I have this midi clip that I want to render to a wav to a new track, but when I click on "render clip" and the render menu shows up, it says "Didn't find any audio to render". The midi clip is not empty and I have loaded the built in sampler plugin so there is sound when I play it. I tried the same thing on other projects and it works, but not on this one. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Pass through plugins? Not sure exactly what that does, but plugins are needed to convert MIDI to audio.

Update - it looks like you DO have to have that selected for MIDI clips to render them to audio, which you have done. What plugins DO you have for that clip/track ?

Waveform 13; Win10 desktop/8 Gig; Win11 Laptop; MPK261; VFX+disfunctional ESQ-1

Turning that off doesn't work either.

Check that you've not accidently muted the track or clip as (from memory) this will prevent rendering

It's not muted, I can hear the track. None of the tracks in this project can be rendered despite having audio

Also make sure the track outputs to 'default audio output' and isn't routed to another track. Waveform doesn't always like rendering a track that goes to a bus.

Also try a render at track level instead of clip level. Put your loop markers around the clip, render track and choose 'only render marked region'. Just to help narrow down the problem.

When hovering over a clip and/or selecting a clip, 4 icons are displayed in the clip header. Hover over icon 4, hold LMB and drag. The render will start. Maybe it will work :)
Maybe it's a bug? But, if I had such a problem, it always meant that I was doing something wrong :)

That solved it! Thanks a lot! :D

Yeah :) if that solved the problem, then your midi clip was not processed by any tool/instrument before. Therefore, it could not be recorded. This fast render feature uses the "Pass through plugin" setting by default. As far as I understand :)
