Hiya,

this is a weird issue. It happens in some cases. I have absolutely no idea why this would happen, as Filterscape passes AUValidation just fine, except when triggered by Logic in seldom cases. One of thze beta testers had success setting Logic's buffersize from 256 to 512 or so.

It might be due to a stupid memory releasing bug I recently fixed, but we can't say as the next update will is several days from now...

I had this problem too with other plugs. You can try to start scanning from scratch, that means rescan all plugs. It seems to me that the Logic Validation database is buggy sometimes. Also it keeps all the plugs in the list that have moved or deleted, or even when I did an update to some plugs. Really weird stuff and quite Un-Logic unfortunately.

Hope they will release an update soon, cause currently they're messing up a lot of customers by their poor update/information policy.
Used to be much better and more customer friendly in former Emagic times.

Hard times for Logic Users :x

This may or may not help.

I had this issue when I installed Filterscape on a powerbook using a CD ... I am allowed it on two pooters I hope

After uninstalling the plug, dragging the install from the CD to the desktop and installing from there solved the issue.

This is known, when installing from cd there are issues regarding permissions.
It's always suggested not to install direct from cd or at least to repair permissions afterwards.

One thing that typically helps when it's not validating is this:

- manually enable it now, as an [incompatible] AU
- next day (or two days later), do a rescan

I'm still puzzled as to why this sometimes happens. I suspect it has something to do with .components that hold multiple plugins and the way Logic uses AUValidation, as it sometimes seems to happen to the Apple AUs as well.

If it still says that AUValidation crashed, please send me the auval.crash.log to urs [at] u-he [dot] com

Thanks,

;) Urs

I've just rescaned with no other plugins, and it validated.

Thanks :)
