Sandboxing adds a layer of complexity. It places plugins in a separate process so that if they crash, they don't also crash Waveform.
I have found that some plugins behave worse when sandboxed, but there are some plugins that seem to need it. What I do is keep sandboxing on, but turn it off individually for each plugin that doesn't need it. Your mileage may vary.

Surely there must be consensus by now...

In all honesty, one of the best tools in Waveform, but yes, sometimes it just gets in the way. And it helps a lot if something goes wrongpough wrote: Thu Jan 12, 2023 5:11 pm but turn it off individually for each plugin that doesn't need it.

1. Go to the plugin list in Settings
2. Select a plugin
3. Press Ctrl-A to select all plugins
4. Click on the Sandbox checkmark for one, which should toggle all of them
5. De-elect all (click a single plugin name) and turn Sandboxing back on for whichever plugins need it

In the attached image, IL Slicex alone is sandboxed. There is a tick in the Sandbox column.nowgad wrote: Fri Jan 13, 2023 12:44 am Thank you very much!!!![]()

Where will it be reflected that the plugin is in the sandbox?
(I find very few Image-Line plugins work in Waveform.)

Image-Line has stopped offering most of their stand-alone plugins because of the fact that they were not keeping up with maintaining them. It is not just Waveform that they have trouble with.
The only one currently on offer is FL Studio itself, loaded into another DAW as an instrument plugin.
There have been indications that they have someone working on modernizing the plugins and that they intend to release them again at some point in the future, but for the moment, they are in effect out of maintenance and discontinued, so problems like this should be expected when trying to use them in conjunction with modern DAWs.
