Problem recording from my Arturia keyboard

I don’t know if I’ve done something wrong in the setup of my waveform free, but I’m having problems getting the keystrokes from my Minilab mk2 to register in my midi sections. As I play on the keyboard, nothing appears at the cursor point on the screen, and then when I play the midi section back, the notes I recorded play back a bar or two too late, and often a couple of semitones up or down from what I played.
At first I suspected my PC is just not up to the task, but i was able to record OK onto midi clips in Ableton Live lite (not that I want to use it), so I’m pretty sure it’s something I’m doing wrong.
TIA
Grum

Click the MIDI input and look for the Quantize dialog. I often record without any Record Quantize and do it later with much more control. This may cause the time offset. But I don't know what could cause the second issue with the note height.

Thanks UnionS8 - I’ll check that out, though I’m not sure it’s the culprit - I would have thought that any quantize issues would be applied to and repeated on every note, rather than just offsetting the start of my recording, though you’ve given me an idea on the second issue - I wonder if there is a ‘detune’ setting somewhere that I’ve fiddled with and it has got stuck (I’m new to all this and often find myself listening to a preview of an instrument that is not the one assigned to the track.)
I’ve found a few YouTube videos here and there, but I think what I really need is an in-depth tutorial for absolute beginners… the videos I’ve watched all fall into the same trap - it’s professional music producers doing them, rather than professional educators - the difference being an educator does not assume you know anything, and their delivery is not coloured by their own experience.
I really don’t want to have to shell out for a full version of Ableton, but in terms of support and education, it seems to be much better served 😕

In fact, I searched for the possibility to shift note height, when you asked, but found nothing :-D I also misunderstood the offset. I thought SOME of notes were late, not the entire clip.
When you click the CPU meter (top right corner), isn't the 'Low Latency Mentoring' turned on? I encountered several weird issues in the past while turning it on.

What are you using for audio type/device? Windows Audio is "simpler" but can have considerable latency. ASIO4All driver can be better tuned. You'll see this normally if you try to play the keyboard "live" and get a consistent delay of (normally) half a second or so.
