Currently automation is only possible on subtracks. However it would be nice to have dedicated automation tracks as well which can target ANY module value - not only parameters of plugin!

E.g. you could automate the value of a Constant Modulator this way!

Afaik automation clips can be put on any track, as long as the value you want to control is confined within the track's target module. Drag the knob/fader onto the track to create a clip, or you can drop it onto the 'add track' button, it'll make a new track. No need for subtracks.

Ahaaa... That's cool! It does not always work as I intend it to work but yes, sometimes I get there :D
This wasn't so obvious. Thanks man!

I would really love MuLab to be more consistent at times. Because you cannot select some of the parameters in subtracks and this lead me to believe that it's not possible at all to target these values...!

I don't understand which inconsistency you mean. Please elaborate on it. Thx.

Sure. First of all you should know that I really love MuLab a LOT and appreciate your kind support!! MuLab is the one thing I was looking for to fill in the gaps most DAW leave open. Especially the nested composers nailed it for me. But of course I hope I can help to give you hints for improvements :)

So the inconsistency is that you can darg+drop params from elsewhere to the sequencer BUT you can't change a target for a fresh track to something that you have not already dropped there. These potential targets are missing in the window to select a target (opened from context menu).
So although you can automate almost anything you cannot select this from the window that appears when you select a (different) target.
So please add all possible targets to MuLab's target selector, too. Then it's consistent with what you can drop :)

Also I would love to see an option to send something to modulation input pins. These inputs are not visible in the target list ATM. It could make sense to add them as targets (sort of a virtual cable from the sequencer to a module's input pin).

Thanks a lot for everything :hyper:
