If you could have only one reverb, what would you choose?

You can be creative in any right place on Earth, and not only in the wealthiest cities. Bring the world feelings from everywhere, and not only feelings of capitalistic or jail environment.

My laptop, my rules. I'll have all 4jamcat wrote: Sat Jan 21, 2023 9:15 pmCSR Room, CSR Hall, CSR Plate, and CSR Inverse are 4 separate plugins that are sold individually. So you can only pick one of them for this game.
I wonder what happens if I press this button...

Sorry. Don't know anything about IK reverbs. You have to be really serious about it if you pay over $100. I don't think it's necessary.ramseysounds wrote: Sat Jan 21, 2023 6:47 pmHow? Why?
I like the IK series reverbs. I think they win.
Ha. My mistake it looks like maybe it was a general consensus of Valhalla Vintage Verb. aka VVV. Which is actually superb from what I heard. Supermassive is a great freebie no one can deny but it's pretty specific to turning anything dull into something extremely cinematic.
Free is great too. I use to really like Glaceverb. But it's only 32bit. Can't use it in Live 10/11. I hate those wrappers.

I picked up the IK reverbs in a group sale a couple of years ago. So in effect 4 reverbs for free. It’s ok; you wasn’t to know. Apology accepted

As for the OP:
Even in one's dreams, such thing (one reverb) cannot exist.
That said, as of late I came to use more and more u-He's Zebrify (reverb module plus all sort of goodies with it) which is MIGHTY good (IMO).

The people who say ValhallaDSP reverbs are just like Lexicon are the same people who say sE Electronics mics are just like Neumann.

They're Lexicon inspired though. Similar topologies, similar modulation. Sean never claimed for a second that they sound just like Lexicon, but most of the algorithms in VVV are inspired by Lexicon algorithms (there's some AMS, and EMT in there too). VVV has a lot more low-mid buildup than the Lexicons (basing this off 224/480 plugins), but that's just part of the sound. It sounds awesome on synths for example. EQ that out, and you can get them very close to the 480 for example. But in general, the Lexicons do blend into the mix better IMO.jamcat wrote: Sun Jan 22, 2023 11:02 pm The people who say ValhallaDSP reverbs are just like Lexicon are the same people who say sE Electronics mics are just like Neumann.
But I picked VVV a few pages back. It's not my "favorite" reverb, but if I could only have one, that's the one by a long shot!
Also, we should be seeing a new VVV algorithm in the very near future (within the next few weeks).
