And pedals?
I can still buy pedals heh, tho I have not lately. I was looking at this wantonly yesterday though.

Right now there just aren't a lot of modules that tempt me -- my current system feels really complete, especially if I count software too. There are plenty of things I'm curious about, but I'm trying to go easy on buying stuff just to indulge my curiosity.

Post

I need to get there (that more complete feeling). I love what I have installed now, but I’m not likely to add modules to it this year due to the space issues.

Yeah, me neither. Wait, what?!

More outputs for the modular, got an Erica Synths Link for £40, does the job.
Takes me to 15 discrete outs (plus 4 extra via Elektrons) which is enough for most things.

One nice thing I found is I can use 1/4” to XLR leads into my ADA 8200 interface letting me double the input channels up with some of my less used synths that use the same channels via 1/4” jacks.

I bought 99% of the components for this last year, but only started to build it this week, does it still count for 2023 year in gear? :D

I had a couple of snags during the build, but I've only got pots, jacks and switches left to solder in and then test/calibration. I really hope I can get it working because I've been GASing for this since it was first announced last summer!

If that counts I'm in trouble. I still have unbuilt kits from the pandemic. B.Sequencer arriving tomorrow.

I'm allowed to not add up how much money I spent over five or six orders right? I can just average them out and say that's what the new modular gear cost...right?

Also, do I have to make music with it, or can I just look at it?

Making music is cheating, you can only look at your modules or soothe your mushrooms and or succulents. If you need to make sounds, you my upload a short recording of random bleeps and farts to your Instagram

What kits do you have? I have an NLC BBX291 VCF to repair; it wasn't working quite right and I damaged some components trying to fix it! I also have an Encephalo Adjuster, Mobius PiLL, Plague of Demons and Hypster to build. The first two use the same black-box vactrol design as the BBX291 and since I couldn't get the filter to work, I lost the confidence to build the EA and MP. I've since improved my de-soldering skills and feel more confident to fix my mistakes and swap out LEDs and LDRs in the vactrol until some combination works as intended! I've got no excuse for slacking on the Hypster and PoD builds though

Oh, nothing fancy, just a couple of VCA kits that aren't screaming "build us now, you know you want to." I just watched a build video for Befaco Lich, and I'm thinking, you know what, it's not that much more to get that pre-built.

I really like pure DIY, and I don't mind the occasional kit to relax with, but not going to lie, it can get tedious and I feel like my time is often worth more to me than the money savings.

Yes I clicked, don't ask how much, I'm pretending like it didn't just happen.
