You really have some problems interpreting text, don't you? There's nothing clear as such. The OP (presumably) hates the look of Windows, and assumes there are others feeling like him. THAT'S IT.jamcat wrote: Fri Feb 10, 2023 9:33 am Well, whether you’re making it look like Mac, as specified, or some other unnamed thing, we can all agree here we hate the looks or Windows. That’s quite clear in the thread title.
Lets just be pedantic again, for the benefit of folk who dont understand CPU design.jamcat wrote: Thu Feb 09, 2023 10:05 pm You're being pedantic again. x64 is an extension of x86, so AMD couldn't design it without first copying x86.
Moore's observation is Moore's Law. He observed a pattern and made a prediction that the same pattern would continue. And you're talking about Moore's observation which lead to Moore's law.
That doesnt make your false claim about obsolescence any more correct.Moore's Law itself is commonly accepted to have much broader implications.
We know its not an actual rigorous law. But its not a joke. Its been a remarkably prescient prediction. But it's actually just a joke, not an actual rigorous law.
Eh, yes they do... have a few (some just simple dlls, some installers), I can just drop into my vst2 folder and run fine (automatically bridged in Reaper).
it's artistic choice ultimately, a few old creative vsts that have no modern equivalent (xoxos' work for example). Having access to those is definitely an asset in my mind. But why does anyone act like running old software that was written for Pentiums and hasn't been maintained for 20 years is an asset?
Are you running critical enterprise software?
Or the real professionals (like my unit ha ha) upgraded everyone to Win7, ensured our suppliers had compatible products available and even moved to different solutions when they were not.And speaking of which, this reminds me of when Microsoft ended support for XP but had to bring it back because the entire banking and professional world freaked out, since they were all still on XP because of compatibility issues with newer versions of Windows.
Huh. Why would they do that?
I dunno, Win 11 finally has tabs in Explorer, just like Finder. Why that has taken so long is anyone's guess, but it is welcomed just the same.
No, there is not. You can reduce the amount of recommended stuff, but not turn it off.BONES wrote: Sat Feb 11, 2023 12:05 am There is a setting to turn that on/off, you don't need Start 11.
