Does anybody know how often Xfer do sales, if at all?

Pretty sure I noticed they had a sale on ages ago, but not seen anything recently.

No, never.

Serum is so popular, and so well-utilized, I'm surprised they haven't come out with a Serum Lite like Synthmaster One, or at least have 1/2 off sales. Then again, if folks are still buying it in droves, why cut themselves short, right?
If you can't dazzle 'em with brilliance, baffle 'em with bullshit.

Money incredibly well spent.
Actually “spent” is not the right word; “invested” is more appropriate.

I got it rent-to-own with no extra premium to do so from Spice. I paid off the last handful of months in one go which was a nice option. It made it more fiscially possible paying $10/mo for 19 months.

I got it on the rent to own years ago as well, it's not a huge deal using splice for a while imo. I seem to recall Duda saying that he does not believe in sales a while back.

Never. Steve said that he doesn't want people to pay in full then there to be a sale, which I think is reasonable.

(I think he said that, don't quote me.)

Thanks for the responses, everyone.

I'm weighing up a few options and this has helped :)

He also doesn't believe in update/upgrade fees and serum 2 is well in development.

Steve also doesn't believe in respecting European Court of Justice rulings about license transfers. Another thing to consider.

Parawave are based in the EU and don't allow license transfers and while it's not ideal, at least they are upfront about it. ECJ doesn't seem too bothered by infringement on their own turf.

Xfer changed their policy for all users, including those who purchased when transfers were still permitted. Changing terms was the d*ck move. Waves and Plugin Alliance for example, technically/legally allow license transfers but the terms/costs are such that it's basically impossible; I can't even give my V9 Gold license away because I need to pay for WUP and transfer costs on top and it's cheaper for new users to buy it on sale (which is every other day ending in y :D) This to me is slimier and more problematic than Rapid (and Xfer for purchases post switch), who are at least honest about it. Just my 2p.

If you sell stuff in the EU you have to abide by EU business law. Same applies for most countries.

Developers take advantage users aren't filling complains against them with their local consumer protection agency, the day they do they will comply with EU law since I doubt most of them have the money to hire lawyers

Companies take advantage of users as long as they can avoid consequences.
