Hello all,
I am messing with a BeatBuddy and am looking to use it for home practice while playing bluegrass while it plays a doublebase or an upright beat.
I would like to use wave Form free but where do find a wav or a VST instrument pack of an upright / doublebase so I can load in up in to the beatbuddy?
Please share with me what your ideas are or links..
This beat buddy is very cool.

Surprising how difficult it is to pick up a small/free decent upright bass .VST.
Until you get other suggestions, there's a SF2 file called "Chromium" (google chromium sf2) that has a LOT of mediocre to good "things" in it, but only 2 flavors of upright bass. (Usable strings and pretty good saxes). You'll need a "player" for this soundfont file - Sobanth works well. Open sobanth, then load(open) the chromium library file, select all, and you can browse through the 100 or so sounds, to get the 10 or 20 you might have a use for in the future.
Oh, and lower right, select the option to lower output level by 6 dB - most patches sound better; and play expressively on a MIDI keyboard to get the full effect of them. Not only for volume, but for tonality.
Softer is quieter, cleaner, and often has a slower attack time.
Harder is louder, punchier, etc. Quick hit/release of the keys make the upright bass "thump" nicely.

If you're looking for either VST instruments or sample libraries there are other forums here at KvR that are specifically for those topics that might get better results.
What's BeatBuddy? I did a search and it seems to be a guitar pedal? Does it load VSTs?
Surely there must be consensus by now...

not an effect pedal but a drummer .. The BeatBuddy is a pedal that gives performers complete control over the beat while playing live. So while you play your instrument, you also have control over the drums. We live-sampled professional drummers at full dynamic range to make the beats in the BeatBuddy.
