Exporting midi file

I'm trying to export a two bar midi clip of just four notes. I select the clip, put the in/out markers over the clip and uncheck "pass through plugin".
The problem is that the exported midi file is cut short immediately after the last note. ie i'm only getting one and a half bars instead of a two bar exported clip.

Yeah, it looks like Waveform creates MIDI files that only last as long as the MIDI notes. I could make it go the full 2 bars by putting a MIDI CC command (eg hold=0) at the end.

I recommend bouncing to an audio clip, or you could lose any decays or tails.

Use the File/Export option. Format:midi, Only selected tracks, Only marked region. I get a full length clip this way, Waveform 12

"dysjoint" yes, thats exactly what I've been trying to do but no luck. (FYI) The last midi note of my clip ends after beat two of the second bar, so the rest of the bar is cut off.
"pough" thanks, I might try filling up the rest of the bar with muted notes to see if that works.

Update:
No , filling in the rest of the bar with muted notes doesn't work. I seems that "White Space" is ignored during export.
If the curtailed clip is imported into a project, it can be stretched out to two bars. However, when you try to audition the clip in the browser(set to repeteat), you just hear the shortened version, which is a bit confusing as it's a drum clip.

Ah, too bad it's drums. You could have put a note with velocity of, say, 1 right at the end; but many drum VST's will play those even at minimal velocity.

Can you take the LAST drum hit and extend it to the end (like a 3-beat snare hit)? It will have faded out anyway, but may fool the export engine...

Yes, that's a fix. works for drum hits.

I really don't think there are such things from MIDI. Those will come from whatever VST instrument the MIDI acts on.

Yes--but what I'm describing:

1. Create or use a track below the MIDI track
2. On this new, empty track, change its input to receive audio from the MIDI track
3. Arm the track for recording
4. Record

This produces a clean audio take of the MIDI file, which is what the OP was after. Peter's idea was, I must admit, ingeniously simple.
