Surgo wrote: Sun Feb 12, 2023 4:06 am Just wanted to put out here how much I (and I'm sure many others) really appreciate you and Olivier coming over to the forum to engage with us. Really means a lot, and speaks volumes (in a good way).

And while we have you here, I'll state that improved MIDI support will turn me into a customer :P
It's quite important to me too be in contact with the community, but I'm mostly active on the Image-Line forum, I actually had an account here earlier but forgot about that and made a new one, but still never used KVR much.
So one reason why my face never shows up here :'D.

We actually had a quite good improvement of the MIDI clock and jitter. (Internally at the moment, was teased by one of our developers a few days ago)
It's from a small value to an even smaller one, ~100x if my tired brain did the math right.

Still not perfect, but we are on it.
It was actually already improved but there was a mistake with the code review, it stayed behind a define that disabled it. And went by unnoticed for a couple of months.
Finding out about that triggered a new look at the issue,, and it was even improved by a lot more.

Slowly getting there.
The day uvi turns to c/r is the day they never see a dime from me again, just as IL never got a dime from me.
And I own 100s of uvi products so far.

i hope they buy NI also. Then we get lifetime free updates to komplete : )

I was thinking about getting UVI Plate, now that it's VST3 and Apple Silicon native.

I didn't realise it had been updated, because the KVR product page still shows it as v1.0.0.

I guess making sure all of that stuff is up-to-date on KVR is your job now, Hevy_IL

Alright, get to work!

THIS MUSIC HAS BEEN MIXED TO BE PLAYED LOUD SO TURN IT UP

Yes UVI is now part of Image-Line.

Incidentally, so is Melda Production, WA Production and Producer Loops ( for over 1 year now ). I assume some of you noticed this on our Sounds page?

Surprising as it may be to some, we have been growing very rapidly over the last decade. FL Studio is installed 30.0000 times/day with peaks up 70.000 times/day during new releases, with some of the biggest producers using FL Studio to create chart-topping music all over the world.

That success puts us in a position to strengthen the Image-Line business with the addition of companies, and most importantly talent, that compliments what we do.

UVI are already doing very well by themselves and they will continue to create and release high-quality products independently for their entire user base. We will be looking to combine and complement each other's offerings where it makes sense for the respective customers in the future.

No, we will not mess with their business or stop the sale of their VST/AU etc, that would be silly.

Anything more, you will need to wait and see. We have proven, I would hope, with our Lifetime Free Updates policy that has stood for 25 years, we can be trusted to keep our word. The whole team prides itself in doing the right thing by our customers. Actions speak louder than words here.

We have positive and good things coming for both FL Studio and UVI customers and both businesses will continue to work independently from a product perspective.

Great to hear that, Scott. Thank you for your detailed post. I love FL Studio and have always been a well-wisher of Image-Line. I trust you and am with you as a proud customer for well over a decade now. The collaboration with UVI came as a surprise, but considering their huge catalog of great products, I am looking forward to what's next when it comes to UVI products (after this ongoing deal) for us Image-Line customers.

By the way, any chances of acquiring FabFilter next? ;)

Post

Why? Don’t you like competition and variety?

You’re seriously pushing for all our music SW companies to buy out others?

Scott , good luck. Hopefully you and your VC investors have now got a full belly.

If we did that EQ 2 would have nothing to aspire to :)

Small correction. The shareholders are Private Equity, not Venture Capital. JMC and Frank are still around also.

So am I, been leading product development at IL since Didier left in 2015.

Thanks.

Hope you and your PE buddies have now got a full belly (according to Donkey Tugger’s figures, it appears you might?) and leave the rest of the market alone.

Thinking off the consumers here, PE is generally not driven by supporting their customers nor maintaining the elements of what made their purchases popular with customers in the first place.

Unfortunately this holds them back from serving their very own fora. Questions being unanswered there for many a day...

No, nothing like that. I think these acquisitions, as long as they don't mess up products and authorization schemes (which isn't going to be the case here), have almost no impact on us as music creators while being beneficial to companies to run their businesses in the long run. So, while my comment about FabFilter wasn't entirely serious and I would not expect that to happen, I wouldn't mind it either.

+1,000,000 :tu:

iLok must DIE! (...at least "mandatory" iLok, regardless of dongle/dongless/cloud).

Only then, will I purchase products from those developers currently shackled to that archaic piece of [expletive!] :x

Not sure whether this is a positive argument with regard to the charts of past 10 years. Matter of taste, of course!
