What would you use them for??

It has it. Just like in any DAW. The patterns (clips or parts) are placed right in the arranger window.

I want to d/l the new release but I'm in the middle of a mix and I've learned not to update anything while you are because things can go wrong. I do hope they have fixed the tiny bug I've noticed. If I replace plugins, the name on the top of the plugin window stays the same. It even stays the same when I save & re-open the project. Just minor, because the correct VST shows up.

This has nothing to do with the update... this way it works since many years already!

For me the best way is to not replace plugins but to first delete the old and then load the new one...works this way in most other DAWs as well...

"I need it so badly to get into the right mood... this is so great... I waited 20 years for that!!!
FLS was all the time so ugly... I never could stand this "greenish" colors..."

Seriously??
You did know the colors before... how can you switch to a DAW or choose a DAW if you cannot stand it´s GUI??
As I understand it, the development of Themes was pretty much the responsibility of primarily one developer, ZX Dunny.

Surely, you're not complaining that Image-Line assigned one developer to undertake this task, a feature, btw, which was much requested by many, many users over the years?

It's not like the whole FLS development team were being taken away from other areas of DAW development and solely preoccupied and dedicated to themes development, was it?

Finished demo tracks don't seem to make much use of patterns because they tend to disappear as variation is added to a song during the arrangement process. But they're extremely useful for making broad changes during draft arrangement, when things aren't set in stone yet. I feel the pain of not having patterns/linked copies in Bitwig every time I use it.
Yes, exactly. That is one of the main reasons Patterns are so useful. Patterns are excellent for using as a 'scratchpad' for various elements of a Project, while composing.

Yes, everything could probably be done via a strictly linear playlist only workflow, like in other DAWs, but it wouldn't be as efficient or fluid a workflow for the draft stage, imho.

For that reason alone, Patterns are valuable. Of course, they can be used for many other reasons also, such as repetitive drum sequences, where it would be less efficient to have to arrange every percussion element on separate playlist tracks. That can be far more time consuming, imho.
