Ebb and flow?
Indeed.

I was so tempted by Ovox, added a another new plug to the purchase and 'rebought' for free via their '2 free plugins' deal two oldies that needed WUP (which actually wouldn't even have been that expensive anyway).

They make nice stuff and it's good to have a couple of their oldies back in my folder too. All Apple Silicon and working well. Kiss and make up. As Gene once said.

(Me and IK, Izotope are currently peleado. Never say nunca, who knows what will transpire in the future)
I will never judge the back and forth relationships with those companies. They all have strange pricing, compatibility and sales.
Same goes for PA, which always has someone that swears to never buy their software again either.

Waves I’m done with.

IK I was just about to delete off the system until I watched a Muscle Shoal documentary (free with ads on YouTube). That and Tape Machine 80. I don’t want to buy into UA.

Izotope. I’m just happy Ozone 8 works. Even when I switch to M2, I don’t care if it’s Rosetta when I use it because it’ll be at the final stage.

PA how many does one truly need?

Waves is for chimps...

In the jungle, by the sea,
Chimps gather 'round to watch and see,
The waves come crashing to the shore,
A sight they've seen a thousand times before.

With curious eyes they watch in awe,
As the water rises, then withdraws,
The ebb and flow, the rhythmic beat,
A natural wonder, so serene and sweet.

The chimps chatter, full of delight,
As they play and dance in the fading light,
Their joy as boundless as the waves,
A moment in time, a memory that stays.

I have Waves Diamond v11 which has a long expired WUP. Is there a trick to get an effective cheap upgrade to the latest version?

TBH it works fine so I don't really need it - I just like the latest versions.

I followed through with entering my delivery address in the US, and, with VAT subtracted, delivery and import tax added, it came to about $170 USD, depending on who does the currency conversion. I've read that PayPal screws you on currency conversions. I also have a Barclaycard, which doesn't charge for offshore purchases. Therefore YMMV.

It's basically half normal interface, half guitar preamp with some nice Torpedo IRs integral. You can warm up both the guitar input and one of the XLR inputs with the 12AX7 tube. Apparently it doesn't offer a huge amount of gain, and I kinda wonder what a replacement tube with less headroom might sound like, assuming they haven't done something hostile like soldering it into the socket.

I kinda want it, to fool around with, and the price is right, but I don't need another interface at all, so there's that. If you're a guitarist who hasn't yet spent all your money on sims, it might be compelling. IMHO.

Considering the serious price drop, they may be getting ready to EOL it. No idea whether a clearance will make it across the Atlantic. They could likely just run everything out through Andertons if they want to.

Occasionally they do 25% off WUP sales and you can knock more off by buying from a reseller like everyplugin.

The best way, since you're still on Diamond, is to upgrade to the next bundle whenever is the cheapest.

It's on the latest page in Bargains Only, props to khanyz for the post.

Audient Sono for £149
USB Audio interface with valve guitar preamp and cab sim.

I just now hit the link, and it looks like the deal is still alive. I can see how it might have failed in larger market, being pretty niche at the original price. But, at this price, if you're in the niche, it should be a nice interface ragardless of the tube stuff, since Audient makes good stuff. I think it would have been an auto-buy for me if I didn't already have an EVO4 for an emergency backup. Still contemplating it, just becuase of GAS.

I can't buy this as it's at a UK store and I'm not a guitarist... that said, an Audient interface with the ability to switch in a tube and model various mics for such a low price is pretty cool. In the US it's available for $260 or so, which is still very inexpensive. Downsides are the fact that it only has a stereo output and a single headphone jack but for the price it's still intriguing.

According to Anderton's site, they're perfectly happy to ship worldwide. You just have to go through the cart long enough to get an estimate of shipping and import taxes.

At this price, it competes well with the usual 4-In basic interfaces, but with the added tweak of the tube and IRs for guitarists. Still a good interface for non-guitarists, imho.

It's curious that Anderson lists this at just an 11GBP discount off of their standard list price of 160GBP. I'm interested in doing some more research and hearing how the tube and mic modeling works on vocals.

Andertons have a couple of bundle offers with the Sono, including a sE Electronics X1A and stand for an extra £58. The X1A is also reduced to £58 on its own.
