Egoist demo

Just trying out the demo version and I'm clearly making a noob mistake somewhere because I can't get a single sound to come out of it! Tried the VST & standalone, both the presets and loading user samples, and the sequencers & FX animations are working visually at least. So, unless, there's possibly a limit to the number of times you can demo it... as I think I may have tried it in the past, but I really don't remember... what's the obvious thing I'm missing?

Did you try setting up your audio and midi for your sound card in Egoist?

Sorry, I forgot to reply to this as I abandoned the idea of getting it. It had been on sale, but that finished the day (or 2) after I posted. Thanks for trying to help though.
