Can you tell me where country lies? Goosebumps all over! Yeah that's a good comparison though more in a theatrical sense I guess than in a musical way. I know the song by heart. I love it. Yeah... you've got some Peter Gabriel blood in your musical veins. It's that same theatrical energy.
Let's not forget Roger Waters and his epic The Wall. Pure theatre.

Hi guys here is my entry for this month's competition called High Voltage. It is a single instance Industrial Techno track which I am sure will be an acquired taste for many. Still, I am happy with how it turned out given the limitation of a single instance and the limited free modules available.
Here is what I used in Ableton Live and in Voltage.
EQ Eight, Mimiter, Utility, Ozone Imager 2, compressor, Youlean Loudness meter 2,
Noise gen, Envelope generator, attenu verter filter, amplifier, 8 bit cipher, limiter, delay, 6 channel mixer, psp spectra, filter, sub octave, oscillator, mini LFO, bit glitter, three band EQ, drum osc, perc EG, ring modulator, dist, spring reverb, phase nudge, genie, playertron, bend limiter, turning, 4seq
I would appreciate any feedback especially if you hear something I could improve on with the mix.

I wanted to try it out but it downloaded me OSC168 Tutorial Template.voltagepreset instead of shimering reverb, I guess there is a problem with link on your pageThe Sound Of Merlin wrote: Fri Feb 24, 2023 3:26 pm SHIMMER REVERB IN VOLTAGE MODULAR !
Dear friends. Today I made an insert FX patch making use of 5 great free R_Ware x Airwindows modules to create a lush shimmer reverb. I used the Capacitor 2 filter and Pafnuty to create some extra flavours and movement to this shimmer reverb. My guess is that it's even more powerful than ValhallaShimmer but please excuse me for being biased. Make sure to check out the 6 performance knobs for live playing and/or automation.
You can find all needed free modules here: https://store.cherryaudio.com/manufacturers/r-ware
and here: https://store.cherryaudio.com/modules/haaschen
You can download the patch named "OSC168 Free Shimmer Machine" from the bottom of this page: https://thesoundofmerlin.com/
Have fun!

"Is that you? A man who runs away from troubles rather than trying to solve them. Imagining a better world rather than trying to change anything. Keeping calm and optimistic like a child with all the chaos around you."
This composition is a maximum I can get from one instance of VM at 100% CPU usage. I think there is a whole potential for further optimization. I felt very limited during the process, almost like creating a song on a budget hardware modular rig. The lack of MIDI modules (channel splitters for example) made me to rely on internal sequencers that is a pretty basic in terms of functionality, only the lead part has a dedicated MIDI track. The way I introduce new sounds is like mixing on the console (using amplifiers as faders). I used aux outputs that helped me with making a better mixing and post-processing. It feels to me like I would make this composition way faster using any other freeware synthesizer. And I went recycling my own musical ideas over and over again (is it a writer's block?).
Created with one instance of Voltage Modular. Used only modules from Nucleus pack (no other free modules from the store).
Technical details:
Produced in FL Studio 21
Effects:
x6 Parametric EQ 2
x1 Reeverb 2
x2 Delay 3
x1 Wave Candy
x1 dB Meter
x1 D16 "Frontier"
x1 Walhalla "Supermassive"
Master Chain:
TDR "Kotelnikov"
Parametric EQ 2
Thomas Mundt "LoudMax"
Total:
x1 Generators
x15 Effects
x1 MIDI Patterns
x5 Mixer Tracks
No Audio Clips
x31 Automation Clips
YouTube version has better streaming quality and there is also some screenshots across the video:

Oh yes, I am very sorry about this. I have asked my friend who does all my web stuff to correct this. It may take a while as it is Sunday atm. As soon as it is corrected I will post it here. If you need it faster, please send me a PM with your email address and I will send it tonight. Cheers!

Hello everyone.
This is my first participation in One Synth Challenge.
- DAW: Bitwig (16-track version)
- Voltage Modular instances: 6
- Used modules: Standard from Nucleus bundle (all delays and reverb from that modules), Divide&Conquer (free), Neon Hologram (free)
- Also I used DAW Automation for some parameters of modules (I suppose that allowed)
- Also I use stock Bitwig equalizer (EQ-5) on one track and stock Bitwig limiter on master track (I suppose that allowed)

My entry for this month competition:
Tried to make Hi-Tech but on the end I added a drop of acid melody so it could be a new genre Acid Hi-Tech
150 bpm
DAW: REAPER
Used:
28 instances of Voltage Modular
16 instances of Voltage Modular FX
Other freeware:
ReaEQ
ReaControlMIDI
MEqualizer
MCompressor
OTT
TDR Nova
TAL-Filter-2
GClip
MSED
LimiterNo6
LoudMax
I'm happy I found a way to stabilize the bass and kick (connecting gate to hard sync, you can even control phase by putting a glide or delay in between), made a ping pong delay, auto panner and glitch effects, if someone wants them you can contact me in private message, cheers

Hi, here is my track for this month. This track started as a guitartrack because I liked the possibilities of VM using it as guitar & bassguitar FX.
However since this is the OSC I could not submit a track wich these instruments.
I wanted to submit a track this month and made sort of excerpt of my efforts.
Hope you like it,
Quaoar
