Sines is additive and already has DX-style FM carrier and modulator architecture. So this wouldn't be their first digital synth.

Yes, in the sense of analog/digital hybrid. But it still has analog filters...

Not really ever stated, but since they are big collectors and lovers of vintage analog gear it seems important to them to make them available for folks that will never have the opportunity to play the originals. I just get the impression that they don't feel the same way about modern digital synths, based on interviews with their head designer when he says, "then along came the DX7 in 1983 which changed everything" ...vurt wrote: Tue Feb 28, 2023 3:06 pm ah ok, i thought it was digital

This is an enlightening interview with the Cherry Audio team as they discuss how they came up with their recent GX-80. Gives a bit of background on their process for emulating a synth in software, and in this case why they chose to merge the GX-1 with a CS-80...
