I'll check it out when the servers cool down (really GForce? Get a better provider!) but I'm not super excited about yet another Minimoog emulation.

Well to be fair to Gforce, this isn't "yet another minimoog emulation" -- it's a V2 update to one of the Very First minimoog emulations, ever. Which you know, of course, since you said you got it way back then. So a V2 is hardly "yet one more..."

Them updating an old product to modern standards isn't nearly as yawn-inducing as all the companies that have released their iteration on the Minimoog in just the last couple years. Gforce have a fantastic new browser, and I'm very glad to see it added to Minimonsta, among other improvements. It just makes sense.

You think a 2005 sound engine with a new ui is less yawn inducing than newer more accurate emulations like the Legend and Model 72? So what you’re saying is that sound does not matter to you. Having been around a while matters though.

no-one is forcing you to buy it. it's an update to a product that had its own sound and now will work on newer macs, and that's good enough for me.

a bit of a shame about the morphing going but with things like macro knobs etc instead not a huge deal

Sad to hear such bad aliasing on the filter. Minimonsta has a fine pedigree as one of the first really good (for the time) Mini's but they missed an opportunity here.

No, I think an updated 2023 sound engine + a new UI + a new browser (the best preset browser I've used, too) is less yawn inducing. Get it yet?

You seem to make a lot of posts based on assumptions you haven't bothered to confirm as true or BS. Read the update list & try the synth first, maybe?

I find it instantly very musical, easy and fun to use, just like its predecessor.
I don't need it, but it's tempting heheh!

The basic sound of Minimonsta2 is better than Minimonsta 1. Similar to when you change Diva's accuracy from "fast" to "divine", it's still the same synth but it sounds richer and more three dimensional. Also, Minimonsta2 can be made to sound sharper, I assume Minimonsta 1 was frequency limited to hide its shortcomings.

More importantly, Minimonsta2 adds Pulse Width, Vintage, Pan Spread, and Reverb, with the Pulse Width and Reverb gaining full modulation capabilities of the Modulation panels.

How many "total" presets? I had the Didn't the original have like 3000 or something?

Hmm, despite my initial positive vibes (there's a lot to like about this thing) I am indeed hearing a lot of aliasing now that I'm using it more, during pretty basic / standard playing + patch design. Like...way too often, way too much. What is going on with this thing?

When i switch on wooden gui it sounds noticable better.
