Hi all,
In Waveform 12, according to the manual, we should be able to remove a track's volume automation by clicking a small minus sign in a square next to the "A" at top right of the track, but I don't see a minus sign; I see only a plus sign. So How can I remove the volume automation I applied to my tracks, so that I can use their volume+pan plugins again? (The volume setting in the volume+pan plugin seems to be fixed on tracks that have volume automation active.)

That minus sign is to remove an automation track, not the automation itself. An automation track is subordinate to a regular track and is simply an extra track that allows you to view automation curves. It's very important to understand that any created automation exists independently of its view. You can have automation that isn't shown. You can have the same automation shown on multiple tracks.
To find and remove an automation curve, click on the A and use one of the bottom two choices, the first one of which allows you to choose any automation in the Edit. The second will only list automation that applies to a plugin on the specific track. Once you have chosen it and the automation is visible, you can remove the automation points (in a few different ways).
If that fails, just delete and re-add the volume plugin that is affected by automation.

Hi! For this request, it's time to create a fixed answer, since deleting a curve, deleting points on a curve, automating is not at all an obvious point.
My way: an automation curve can be deleted by selecting it, it will turn white, and pressing Del on the keyboard. All points will be reset to the value currently set for the parameter (slider, button) that has been automated.
The track of this curve can also be deleted by selecting it and pressing Del.
You can also do all this from the drop-down menus - for me it takes longer.
