Strange. Did you change anything?
Well, it did happen after I erased all clips from a project in order to start something new.
Also, I swapped the two USB C input cables that go to my MacBook Air. Sometimes those things can be surprising. (Like if I swap the USB C port for my audio interface, Bitwig interprets it as a different interface and I have to re-create all input and output channels.)

Launchpad vs. Launch Control : Is it possible to force the Takeover Mode as part of the configuration of a controller ? Catch up makes sense to use when using rotary/sliding non mechanized controls and Immediate makes sense with a device has two-way communications with Bitwig and can actualize the controls.

Another question : As part of its controller communication does Bitwig also communicate details like the names of the tracks ? If so, are there (more advanced) controllers out there that take advantage of it and display the name of tracks and devices, etc. sent by Bitwig ?

Thanks.

Strangely, you can only set this globally for all controllers.

Yes. Basically all controllers with a programmable display. E.g. Push, MPC/Force, Electra One, Fire, Launchkey, SL Mk2/3, ...

Just want to report an observation please. MIDI Program Change doesn't appear to work for me using Launchkey Midi Mk3

Bitwig 4.4.8
v. 19.2.1
Launchkey Mini Mk3 (updated to latest, can't find the version number but it's current)

Midi Program change messages doesn't work in any mode I tried.

Steps to reproduce:
Using Moss' Launchkey Mini Mk3 driver open a MIDI Program Change synth in Bitwig
Select mode "Device" using Shift->Device
Hit Shift and Program Change +/-
presets don't increment or decrement

If I switch to a generic Bitwig MIDI Keyboard driver, this functionality works fine.

Thank you!

There is simply no such feature in my implementation which uses the programmers mode of the Launchpad. This means that all hardware features are off.
When you use the Generic Flexi you can use all hardware features of the Launchpad.

Hi,
I’m using the Push1 with the DrivenByMoss script. One thing that I really miss is to be able to see on the desktop screen the currently selected device. I asked in YouTube and Jurgen kindly answered that “scrolling into view is currently not possible”.
So I’m wondering if there’s an alternate approach to focusing on the current device. Maybe mapping some button or at least having a way to scroll the device view so o don’t have to reach for the mouse.

Thank you. I was referring to the Launchkey Mini Mk3, not the Launcpad. I tried using Flexi but couldn't figure out how to use it without using the Bitwig device "MIDI Program Change" and the dial is too fast to control. Can you send a hint on where to find the Program Change parameter in Flexi.

With 19.2.1 and Launchpad Pro Mk3: In Session mode I get the big red rectangle (on screen) showing the active bank of tracks, but when I go to Note mode (or any other mode actually) the red rectangle disappears. I can still navigate the tracks fine, it would just be nicer if the red rectangle always showed the active bank.
It is only active in the session mode. But hmm, you might have a point here.
To show support for the observation, as soon as one uses any Track Control (Volume, Solo, Mute, etc,) the 'red square' reference disappears. It would be useful to still have it in any modes since the navigation arrows are available. Eg. if you move sideways through 32 scenes, where are you then in Track Control ?

The colours are not always representative. Maybe because I use mainly the Overcast palette, Maybe the tracking of colours would be more accurate if I stick to the first palette.

About moving the red square : would it be possible to add a faster move after an arrow button is pressed for a certain time ? EDIT: I found out the bird's eyes view which is great but of less immediate reach than moving with the arrows.

Also about moving the 'red square', on the Launchpad Mini the up/down arrows are moving it sideways and the left/right arrows are moving it up and down. Shouldn't it be the contrary ?

Thanks.

There is no PC function in Generic Flexi. So, either your hardware can send it or you need to use the Bitwig PC device.

Moin Jürgen,
since I finally canceled some other projects, I have time to do my musical stuff again, so I spend more time doing things in Bitwig. I realized in the last few days, that I have more problems with my controllers (Push 1/SLMK3). In unregular intervals and while I'm playing, all controller scripts seem to do something like a reset. That means, the Push 1 and SLMK3 just lose their focus, and the track which was armed and I was performing on then becomes unarmed so I can't play anymore. The Push 1 shows "Please select a track..." and if I remember right the SLMK3 leaves the IN CONTROL mode. I can't reproduce it on purpose, but it happens again and again. It's quite a show-stopper if you are losing your focused instrument while performing. :?

Best regards
Andreas

HI on the akai fire, would it be more useful to have alt and grid arrows change the root note and holding shift plus alt and the gird arrows to control the scale layout? Basically switching the button combos?

Hi. I hope this is the right place to post. I've really been enjoying using the Novation X with DrivenByMoss. However, with one of my tracks the controller seems to have become stuck with one particular instrument selected which it refuses to move from. I have to use the birds eye view to move away from this particular selection of instruments and I can't edit device settings on any of the other instruments. I wondered whether anyone would be able to help? Many thanks.

@Moss is it possible to add a timeout setting for the Behringer xTouch screen notifications? Eg, if i'm in a PLUG-IN and change the FADER BANK the full screen is used to display the current fader bank information. It's are very handy to get to know the device, but having them display for an extended period of time gets in the way.

Ideally it would be great to have an option to set the notification delay in milliseconds/seconds either in a textbox or select box.

Sounds like the devices restart?! Could it be a power issue with an USB hub?
