I just did a quick skip-through watch of this! I'm saving it for later because this would be a great way to make this easier to use.

That's how I feel about today's "Ooops... All Echoes!"

Some real feedback wizardry there :hail:

yup that was awesome too!
trying to think what i can use instead of echophon???
i think clouds is the closest for pitch manipulation but is a much cleaner sounding thing.

i nearly cried when he pulled the headphones out for feedback loops

After buying a ProCo Deucetone RAT Distortion Pedal to use in combo with my Ocean Machine, I finally stumbled over a used Collision Devices Black Hole Symmetry, which is what I wanted before both of the previous mentioned. Haven't used any of them yet. Just GAS.
I had decided never to buy any more from Izotope, but then I got MPS 5.2 upgrade for $177 at JRRshop... Sigh... Now I have to make use of all this power... responsibly

I'm particularly partial to Echophons uniqueness*, in that it has two feedback 'paths', and pitch, sync and delay time variations, and freeze, that are (to me) much more hands-on 'controllable', than say Mimeophon, which tends (imo) to just smear things up regardless.

*get two of them.

Would love to pick up an Echophon. I really liked the video, but man the used prices seemed to have jumped (or else all the sub $300 ones have just been picked up).

Wow. Just checked Reverb, and the prices are :o I lucked-out on mine second-hand from dealers several years ago, @ $230 and $250 respectively. Both in near mint condition. I'll PM you if I happen upon one under $300. :tu:

Yes please! I was even hunting modwiggler, but no luck.

I’m going to have extra space hopefully soon, but famous last words… I don’t want to rush to fill those up. Echophon seems likes a thoughtful edition.

I love just noodling around for hours with this kind of rhythmic thing... bouncing to and from a Bitbox 1010 (v.1) and mixing back and forth between 2x Roland Scoopers, 2x Phonogenes, and the Echophons. Grinning like a 'happy accidents' idiot all the while. :D

I feel like they're pouring salt into wounds... "you buy them cheap 2nd hand because of Mimeophon" :hihi:

It's okay, I'll be patient (this time).

I'm just excited about having space and at the same time, I think I have a better idea of how I'll use things (or better idea of what I like to use with eurorack - definitely not drums).

I just ordered the Rackbrute bag.
It popped up in my Amazon feed, but it's sold from Amazon Japan. I hope it actually comes... they were down to just the 1 and it's sold out everywhere.

Having a cover would be essential especially with little Marley who is getting into absolutely everything.

A couple of opportunistic impulse buys from a motivated local seller…

Squarp Pyramid v3 fo me and Roli Songmaker Kit for my son (but, I might use it, too!)

The 1st of 2 Rackbrute cases arrived today.

There is no ETA on the 2nd case but at least the 2nd life of my eurorack adventure has begun!

2 surprises having this in person...

1) the power module might be 5hp, but there's 89hp across (not 88).
2) There's less than 73mm of clearance next to the power module.

So one good surprise and one bad. I got lucky that Morphagene is not a deep module.

I need to adjust my plans for the 2nd one though.

*I should be able to have the 2 rackbrutes on my desk. It might be a slight overhang, but it should work (just not in the angle pictured).

**Now comes the annoying part, reconnecting the OTO machines. I've got options for connecting them, but this is not the fun part.

Fresh module day!

Wasp and SEM filters finally arrived today.
Then as if magic, two Dreadbox modules arrived.

Utopia should arrive later this week, as well as SSF Steady State Gate.

The only issue is that there’s no place to put these things for now, but I’m considering getting a pair of TipTop ears, attaching my old rails and Zeus power supply until the 2nd RackBrute case comes.
