I've spent one evening on each of these compositions so far, which is how it usually happens for me. If I'm into it enough to push through various arrangement hurdles and get rid of clunky melodic choices sooner rather than later, I know I'm on to something. These were realized on my laptop, which purposely has 1/10th of the plugins I actually own. I need to take that approach more often as it really forces you to just live with things and move on with the actual composing.

Don't let the short little intro on the first one fool you as the piece changes direction right away.

I would appreciate any feedback, whether good or bad. I've been trying really hard to simplify things and embrace 80s ideas and production approaches.

Shane,
Thank you for the reviews! Now "Magisterial Horizon": does sound rather 80's, which is fine by me! Some nice vocals would be nice, though perhaps you don't sing. Regardless, it sounds very nice; nice melodies & synth sounds. "Things May Continue": same comments on this song.

Magisterial Horizion has a really nice flow, cool melody, and nice sound design. The drums and the bass sat a tad far back in the mix for my taste, but that may be just a matter of taste.

Things May Continue has a nice narrative quality. Really like the progression that starts around 1:30->1:57.

Yeah, I think you're right. Will brighten up those instruments in the next editing pass and push the energy a bit. :-) Thanks for listening!
