Everyones knows that Ableton Live has PDC problems, so how it is using this on Live, does it stays on time? Plugins like this are only useful, if the PDC is perfect. Even couple ms latency is bad. I assume that Bitwig has better / faulty free PDC for SC plugins?

Yes, in our tests Bitwig's PDC is always perfect, no matter if you've selected using Kickstart's SYNC mode, its MIDI triggering or its audio triggering.keel wrote: Thu May 19, 2022 8:18 pm Everyones knows that Ableton Live has PDC problems, so how it is using this on Live, does it stays on time? Ableton is a different story.. but with MIDI triggering or audio triggering, Ableton's PDC is also correct, so that's a good workaround for it's faulty PDC.

I was looking at an old project file a friend sent me years ago that has a bunch of Kickstart v1 (which I don’t own) instances in it and was wondering if v2 was backward-compatible, if I bought it. This answers that question, but does anyone know if v1 is available anywhere, or if I bought v2 would I possibly have access to v1? Long shot, I know….Jakob / Cableguys wrote: Thu May 19, 2022 6:05 pmKickstart 1 and 2 are very separate plugins (and they have unique IDs, which DAWs look at). You can uninstall one of them without affecting the other. Note that for loading songs that used Kickstart 1, you need to have Kickstart 1.adl wrote: Thu May 19, 2022 11:11 am Can i uninstall the old version when i upgraded to the new version? Or is the new depending on the old anyhow?

Are you looking into adding higher resolutions for beat sync?Jakob / Cableguys wrote: Wed Mar 29, 2023 6:58 amSimply drop us an email to contact@cableguys.com and we will add Kickstart 1 to your account too after you've purchased Kickstart 2.cryophonik wrote: Wed Mar 29, 2023 1:35 am..does anyone know if v1 is available anywhere, or if I bought v2 would I possibly have access to v1? You mean 1/16 loop length etc? No, we're trying to keep the Kickstart UI very focused; for more options we're having VolumeShaper (which by the way does not require more CPU and only slightly more memory than Kickstart).

Sad to hear that :’(Jakob / Cableguys wrote: Wed Mar 29, 2023 12:58 pmYou mean 1/16 loop length etc? No, we're trying to keep the Kickstart UI very focused; for more options we're having VolumeShaper (which by the way does not require more CPU and only slightly more memory than Kickstart).
Kickstarts strength for me is that it is focused, super simple to use, and just adding 16ths and 32ths would not steal any focus nor make it harder to use. Quite the opposite in fact.
I bought Shaperbox a while back, and I rearly use it. The presets are just way too random, childish and unusable for me. It doesn’t sound good:/
Romero got everything right (except forgetting the higher resolutions).
CG should learn from him.
To focus all energy n time to make ONE shaper PERFECT.
Not just throwing in all funtions that comes to mind.
There are no winners with fillers.

We just released Kickstart 2.0.2, which – along with our HalfTime and ShaperBox 3 plugins – now has native support for Apple Silicon under Pro Tools AAX.
Download the Kickstart 2.0.2 update from your Cableguys account, or try the demo.

Hi all! We have released a small update for Kickstart 2. v2.0.3 fixes an issue in the VST 3 version, where the MIDI trigger note choice was ignored when loading a project, causing all MIDI notes to trigger the sidechain curve.
Download the Kickstart 2.0.3 update from your Cableguys account, or try the demo.

Very long time Kickstart user here. Version 1 has been my go to SC plugin for many, many years. Updated to version 2 when it came out. While I think it is upgrade and I would like to use it, I simply don't use it at all. Reason: It want to connect internet (cableguys.com 85.13.135.127) all the fakin time. You deny it on firewall, it keep asking 8 times in total until it give up. Then load another instance of Kickstart 2 and do it again. No thanks, I rather stay on version 1. Note, there is no something like "autocheck update" or something in the settings, what cause this. I would disabled it right away. Also note, that Version 1 do not ask access to internet at all. Never. So please disable this your spy shieet, what ever it is. Or at least give us option in options to disable it. THANK YOU!

I am sorry to hear that you're unhappy with this.keel wrote: Fri Jun 23, 2023 11:08 am Very long time Kickstart user here. Version 1 has been my go to SC plugin for many, many years. The update-check is lightweight and produces close to no traffic (just saying in case it matters to you if you're on a metered connection). Once it has successfully checked for updates it won't do so for days. The retries won't be noticeable regarding system performance.

A simple option to disable it would clear the case…

I don't think an update check it's an issue. The only issue is when something needs to connect to internet for authorization and/or to run, and afaik cableguys software can be installed and runned on offline pc without any other needs
