From numerous Youtube videos already: New customers for Waves are subscription only. You NEVER finish paying. And if you bought Waves plugins in the past, you lose compatibility if you update, and have to start paying again if you update (from what I'm hearing). It seems like they want perpetual money, no matter what. For eternity. On finite effort. Doesn't seem fair to me!
The Meldaverse can do anything Waves can, as far as I can tell. And you can design your own stuff. With Melda, you can do quick and simple, or a bit more complex, or go down WIDE, HUMONGOUS universes of rabbit holes...if you WANT to. It's all there.

That's why iLok, proprietary authorizing systems, CR and everything different from a serial number/key file that works without the need to call a server it's a sh**.
Buy and own. That's one of the reason i love Melda along few other companies.
