How to comp midi tracks from multi output vst?

I record e-drums in Waveform using the EZDrummer 3 vst for sounds. I made a rack in Waveform for multi output so I have a track for each drum / cymbal. It works fine and I can record no problem.

What I want though, is to comp my takes and I can't figure out how to do this. The manual shows comping midi, but not specifically multi output tracks. Any pointers would be much appreciated!
thanks

To be clear, I know how to comp with single audio tracks, but not midi multi output tracks. Is it possible I need to create a drum buss to get it to comp?

What's different about multi output tracks? It sounds like you've found out how to comp MIDI from the manual but there is something different that you want to happen but haven't specified it.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

All I know is when I try to comp the midi drum tracks by setting Loop to on, dragging the little markers to indicate the section I want to comp, I just end up recording over the same track multiple times, not creating new tracks which is what I want. Also, there is no little plus sign at the btm right of the new track , like there is when comping audio tracks.

I'm new at this and have worked through a lot of challenges to get this far, but this one has me stumped. I want to record multiple takes of a single drum part in the song - there must be a way?..

Are you wanting to create new CLIPS or new TRACKS? You can do the former, but not the latter.

There is a property of a MIDI input called 'Action'. You can find it Settings -> MIDI Devices and select the input. The same options show up when you select the MIDI input in your Edit, as long as the Control Panel at the bottom is opened into what we call "Useful Mode". Set the Action to 'Overlay new clips, containing newly recorded MIDI'.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

That's it! - thanks so much. The manual said the same thing but I was looking at "Action*s*" - not Action. Thanks for clarifying - now on to the next challenge lol.
cheers
