During my latest “real” recording project I have come across two bugs.
1. I’m using a MOTU mkII. Recorded the drums using 8 inputs on separate tracks. After the drums were done I saved the project with the line-ins still connected to the tracks. When it came time for bass (and before I reopened the project) I disabled all the extra inputs except for one stereo pair. I then opened the project and connected the line in for the bass on a new track. When I record the pink “record” boxes still form on the drum tracks. When I stop the track they vanish but I’m not sure if its caching blank WAV or what.
2. Once we had the guitar recorded I had to start doing some punch’s (overwrite current WAV). I would set the marker up for the punch and then record. When I hit stop the wav before the punch IN marker moves back away from the marker and creates a gap. Its not always the same size which is even more odd. Is this done on purpose for some strange reason? After every punch in I have to go to the first wav and drag it in to overlap and cross fade with the new wav.
Any ideas?

Have seen #1 quite a bit (I think there was a thread a while ago about it). It freaked me out at first thinking I was inadvertantly recording over an existing track, but after a while I just got used to ignoring it.

Actually, I hadn't heard number 1 before. I'll check it out. Number two has been duplicated and will be fixed.
Thanks,
Ben
