The delptronics boards and panels arrived today. They are a bit expensive, but, in perspective, they're really not that much. I remember getting Blacet B-stock blanks for about $3 each which, I guess was my comparable. These are, on average about $20 each so, at first, I experienced a bit of sticker shock. However, compared to basic Eurorack blanks, they are reasonably priced considering what you get. I think that if you whip up your own variant you can beat the price with PCB panels. Until you get there though, these are a huge time saver.
The 4HP variants are particularly useful IMO because you often just want to whip up something simple like a mixer or a special VCA or something. They come with one of the 10HP proto-boards along with the 4HP knob board and panel. The idea is that the proto board is mounted at a 90 degree angle and extends into the case. This would make for a skiff unfriendly module. However, for quick and dirty DIY, I'd just not bother with the protoboard and I would save it for a second variant of a 10HP module. You can easily just use a cheap bit of strip board to quickly DIY your 4HP module. If you've ever thought about pure DIY, I cannot think of an easier or cleaner way to get something into your rack in short order.

I’m not sure if I want to get the 8 voice card expander for my Waldorf M, or sell my 002 rack and get a UDO Super 6. I’ve not used it that much since the M came to town, and I was thinking it might be time to mix it up a bit.

I bought most of the music equipment I needed back in 2022, but I recently learned about this flightcase from Swanflight for the LinnStrument. I am not very familiar with flightcases in general, so the configuration options do not provide enough information to make an informed decision. I do at least understand the laminate and additional storage compartment, of which the latter I will definitely include in my eventual order. I will probably email Swanflight for more information when I am ready to purchase it.
Other than that, I am interested in acquiring the Earthworks ICON for video conferencing purposes. I would have gotten the Sennheiser MD 441-U instead, but support for audio interfaces on Linux is poor, relying on "class compliance" and a hardware editing workflow, so I am ignoring that option for now until I have more time to research every option. Otherwise, I would have paired it with the Prism Sound Lyra 1, although the Lyra 2 would also be viable considering it is the same dimensions.

My Rackbrute case arrived! It came in a giant box but it is a big ass bag so I guess it makes sense.
This is a welcome relief as it'll be less cat hair now.

Shouldn’t have bought anything more until payday, but had one of these on my hit list of stuff and it fell into a price I couldn’t refuse

Yeah, I'm thinkin' the One Cable Short collaborative should have a tin-foil hatted "unboxing kit, reaction video" series.

I didn't pull the trigger on this one, but, not gonna lie, this is that sweet area where I'm willing to spend on digital modules. I'm holding off on more drum modules for a bit though, I have an unfinished project from years ago that I'm now motivated to get in the rack.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Sun Apr 09, 2023 12:47 am Shouldn’t have bought anything more until payday, but had one of these on my hit list of stuff and it fell into a price I couldn’t refuse

Someone talk me off the ledge here, please...
So, I've never really been a huge Oberheim fan and was also never really interested in an OB-6, despite always wanting to like it. However, I bought a Sequential Pro 3 a few months ago and I'm finding that my favorite of the three filters is the SVF from the OB-6. So, I've started revisiting OB-6 demos and now I think I want one. The thing is, I already have three Sequential poly/paraphonic synths (Prophet 6, Rev2, and Pro 3) that are not going anywhere, not to mention a PolyBrute. I definitely don't *need* an OB-6, but I just sold my Opsix and Digitone, which freed up some desktop space and inputs, so I'm flirting with the idea. Am I nuts to want four Sequential synths?

The OB-6 is not really a "seqeuntial" synth though. I mean in the sense that the parts that, IMNSHO, contribute most to the tone are from Tom Oberheim. But, do you really want another 6 voice poly?cryophonik wrote: Mon Apr 10, 2023 9:05 pm Someone talk me off the ledge here, please...

I'd definitely wait for NAMM.

I'm actually OK with the 6-voice synths (plus my 16-voice Rev2) and one thing I find somewhat appealing about the OP-6 is that it's so similar in design to my P6 that I should feel instantly at home with it. But, good point about NAMM. I was actually planning on waiting until after NAMM to buy one anyway, if I decided to. Maybe the OB-X8 module will be announced or something.

This is a follow-up from my previous post on this thread.
I learned that flight case materials are generally sourced from Penn Elcom, which means I have all of the details I will ever need to configure my own LinnStrument flight case, or to create a bespoke one if desired. That being said, my needs are simple, so the birch plywood "Hexagrip" finish is fine enough, and the fit recessed label dish/self-adhesive labels are nice to have while traveling too.
I have not made much headway for audio interfaces, but I will make time to evaluate options after NAMM has finished.
