I've been looking for a simple sampler for drums/percussion that loads fast and uses as little CPU as possible. I've tried a few, including REAPER's stock sampler, but I never was quite happy with either the load-time/CPU-consumption or the workflow.
It didn't occur to me to even try MSF until today, because it's a super powerful modular synth, and I just assumed it would consume a lot of unnecessary resources for such a simple task. But today, I was frustrated enough to give it a try, and I was super impressed.
I created a track template with only the drum sampler module, and not only does it load as quickly as REAPER's stock sampler, it even takes less CPU to run. Amazing!
And if you close all the unnecessary parts of the UI, it even looks simple enough.
Making a powerful modular synth run even more efficient as a basic stock sampler is quite the achievement. I'm impressed.
P.s. The only minor workflow issue I found so far is that if you drag in a sample, the browser shows the correct path, but it isn't loaded. You have to switch back and forth to load it. (Windows 11, V16.04)
I Love how Fast MSoundFactory is

Anyone who thinks that all you need is stock plugins clearly isn't a Meldaproduction user

Overall, Melda's plugins are very efficient. One of the reasons I decided to go all in after some time.
