Does MuLab have an SFZ/SF2 sample player?

Hi,

Most of my workflow is Audio related and for that I'm happy with Ardour but it has a long way to go for MIDI workflows and I'm increasingly frustrated that it doesn't allow velocity editing in the customary way that pretty much every other DAW provides. I work mostly on Linux (in fact I distribute a Linux Audio Distribution) but I'm not allergic to Windows either and I've recently discovered MuLab and it looks fascinating but far more complex than my needs. In a perfect world I'm probably best off with energyXT for my limited MIDI dabblings but it's in a state of flux where the Linux version doesn't work without excessive external hacking (which I've done) and the former 32bit Windows builds don't run for me on an AMD Threadripper-based machine, so far my experience with the newer 'EXT64' on Linux in Wine/WineASIO is less than optimal and quite flaky, MuLab seems more stable and extremely promising and I LOVE the portable aspect but I have a few questions..

Does MuLab have a sample player for the common SFZ/SF2 formats? Also does it support VST2 only or VST3 as well? Can it be used as 'simply' as energyXT and are it's Audio features more robust than energyXT?

First, thanks for the quick reply and my condolences on your recent loss, that's a big one..

I guess in my case what I mean is can I record Audio and edit it non-destructively whether that means small looped segments or recording tracks the length of an entire composition and simply have a single composition window with Audio and MIDI tracks side by side on the timeline (I know...boring!). I know MuLab is capable of so much more but I mostly would probably use it more like a regular DAW much of the time and as a loop-based composer occasionally.

I owned BitWig for a time but it was completely overwhelming for such basic workflow needs..
