Single Track Tempo Change

Is it possible to make a tempo change to a single audio trach without changing the global tempo tack? I know I can stretch and shrink clips as well as straight BPM changes but I'm trying to make a tempo change curve just like you can do in the global tempo track.

Post

You can set clips to follow (remap on tempo change??) global tempo (or not), you might be able to work something like that. Never tried it myself.

As in you might be able to deselect all the other clips, not a very satisfactory answer, I know.

You're right, I thought of that too. I was hoping there was another way. My MIDI clips change with a tempo change though. I know I can convert them to audio clips but that comes with other issues.

I may be wrong, but I don't believe Waveform can presently handle two different BPMs at the same time. I've never seen anyone do it, and can't think of a way, short of rendering one track to audio.

If this is incorrect, I'd love step-by-step directions.

Hi! I don't know if this will help you. You can drag the two arrows at the top of a MIDI clip while holding ALT (on Windows) to stretch the clip. You can adjust the tempo of the track using this workaround. I'm not sure if it suits your needs, but... ;-)

Put the desired tempo change in the timeline after the end of the song.
Put the clip you want to change in that part of the timeline.
Render the clip to another track.
Move the rendered clip back into the song.

Thank you all! I think I can make it work with these work arounds.

Stuttaton, that's a very clever workaround!

FINAL WORK AROUND
What I got to work was copying the clip and pasting it into to a new edit, editing it, then copying and pasting it again.
All the Advice was great! Thank you all!

I am running into another problem and I'll be making another post so that this thread stays on the topic.
