I've just done some Audio recording into MuLab 9 and my latency buffers are set fairly high and the Audio has recorded to the timeline with the latency offset which isn't ideal but I see the same behavior in energyXT.. Anyway I just want to drag the recorded region into proper position on the Grid but the Audio region is opaque and I can't see the Grid underneath even when dragging it, I've run through the context menus but I see nothing related to either showing the Grid or transparency of the region pertaining to recorded Audio. Am I missing something?
Working with Audio in MuLab, Opacity and Grid visibility in Audio regions?

I'm fairly new to Mulab so there may be a better way but you can try editing the clip in Audio Lab (clip context menu) and create a snap marker on the clip. It will then snap that to the grid. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply and the link!
In reading it over it seems like the program is really not geared or expecting you to record Audio into it, more aiming for sample and clip import.. The flag idea makes sense of course but is a lot of extra steps in comparison to a simple transparent drag. Of course you can align the Audio by ear as well, I'm just evaluating MuLab coming from Ardour and Mixbus which are incredibly good at Audio and pretty incomplete at MIDI... I'm looking in the wrong place at this point I think...

MuLab App doesn't provide proper audio recording workflow - no record arm, no monitoring buttons, complicated simultaneous recording of multiple tracks etc. You may try MuLab Plugin to add some MIDI features to your DAW.AVLinux wrote: Mon Apr 10, 2023 10:34 pm I'm just evaluating MuLab coming from Ardour and Mixbus which are incredibly good at Audio and pretty incomplete at MIDI... @robert_p
OK, now I'm a bit confused, I'm seeing record arm, monitoring and also the ability to pick multiple inputs (I'm using a Presonus AR-8 with 4 inputs). I can record Audio, it's just not terribly convenient to work with once recorded..

But you can see the grid on the track above/below, as well as in the time bar, where there is a subtle colored indicator while dragging. Doesn't that help to put the audio clip on the right position?AVLinux wrote: Thu Apr 06, 2023 1:34 pm I've just done some Audio recording into MuLab 9 and my latency buffers are set fairly high and the Audio has recorded to the timeline with the latency offset which isn't ideal but I see the same behavior in energyXT.. If you want to make fine adjustments independent from the grid then temporarily switch off the grid via the green led at the left side of the "Grid" panel at the bottom-right of the composer.
Toggling the grid on / off can also be done using a shortcut key, if you want.

Also dayvyg's tip about the snap marker surely is relevant, thx dayvyg for the tip and doc link.

Thanks @mutools for your personal reply... Let me say that unlike other projects I'm interested in (err... uhm...oops... did I just say...energyXT out loud....?) it is very gratifying to see the presence of the developer and your patience and positive discourse with your users even when they aren't always 'asking nicely'... This is something that makes this project very attractive to me as a potential next stop. I really need to do a complete project with Audio and MIDI in MuLab to ensure that I can achieve what I want and that it will function with enough stability on Linux to add to the toolbox before I make a final purchase but in the meantime I really like the vibe on this forum. Even though this isn't a FLOSS project it has a similar feeling of community.
Thanks for your brilliant programming and exceptional communication and people skills, that is an attribute that is often in short supply especially in our present times.. Looking forward to trying the next development release!
