I would like groove tools in Bitwig...
In the meanwhile, (based on the idea from Polarity) I have been experimenting with using a project based curves lfo to modulate tempo in V5 beta. I'm getting some sweet grooves and it is for sure an interesting area for exploration.

The issue with this, that I would see is that if you change project tempo, maybe it works with midi hits, but could be a mess with audio.
Ideally groove can be applied at a clip level, so different grooves can be used.
This does sound like fun for making small scratch pad projects with some groove though.
I do wonder if mseg and the improvements in grid, timings etc are a good precursor to an actual groove implementation. Fingers crossed.

It's crazy we have this option. Might end up being a new genre.pdxindy wrote: Thu Apr 13, 2023 2:32 pm I would like groove tools in Bitwig...

Yeah, I could see that spawning a new style... it has a sound to it, and it can be appealing!billcarroll wrote: Fri Apr 14, 2023 2:53 pm It's crazy we have this option. Might end up being a new genre.

It has been possible in Ableton for quite some time (not as inviting as in BW) and I doubt it could generate a new genre but, maybe in the hands of the bitwig community, it could get some traction indeed.pdxindy wrote: Fri Apr 14, 2023 3:30 pmYeah, I could see that spawning a new style... it has a sound to it, and it can be appealing!billcarroll wrote: Fri Apr 14, 2023 2:53 pm It's crazy we have this option. Yep, not only Ableton but it's also quite common technique used in trackers to create swing feel, so there's definitely some potential for interesting grooves.liquidsound wrote: Fri Apr 14, 2023 3:52 pmIt has been possible in Ableton for quite some time (not as inviting as in BW) and I doubt it could generate a new genre but, maybe in the hands of the bitwig community, it could get some traction indeed.pdxindy wrote: Fri Apr 14, 2023 3:30 pmYeah, I could see that spawning a new style... it has a sound to it, and it can be appealing!billcarroll wrote: Fri Apr 14, 2023 2:53 pm It's crazy we have this option. I'd imagine time based FX like delays would sound funny with the track tempo going nuts. May not want that.
+1000 to grooves in BWS + the obvious sequencer that belongs to it
I don't know about you all but I'm already waiting for 5.2 or whatever. Why is it taking so long?
