So..I was having problems getting audio from gigastudio back into tracktion without using rewire. Just use the soundcard mixer as an input right? sure but I was getting NASTY feedback...so I try doing it with cubase...works like a champ, tried it in sonar, worked like a champ...what's that little symbol in sonar..enable input echo...hmmm...maybe if I turn off end to end in the audio track in tracktion it'll do the same thing? WHAM BAM! I'M GOLD BABY!!! (BTW this may set the new retard record..it took me damn near a week and half of playing around to figure it out)just thought I'd share my story...cause I know I'm not the only one this shit happens to. plus I'm totally stoked right now!

no you are not a moron.
If you can explain to me what 'end-to-end' really means except:
"Click here when you can't hear something that you expect to hear"
That's what it means to me. I can't find a good description of why it's named that, but that's what it means to me.

end-to-end may not be the best label, but basically it means "make a direct connection between an input and an output".rockstar_not wrote: If you can explain to me what 'end-to-end' really means except:

When playback or record is active, all inputs are running end-to-end regardless of the e-2-e setting, so probably "permanent/persistent end-to-end" is a more accurate description.

not so.. the end to end setting for an audio input makes a significant difference DURING recording (ie; whether you monitor the signal or not)valley wrote:When playback or record is active, all inputs are running end-to-end regardless of the e-2-e setting, so probably "permanent/persistent end-to-end" is a more accurate description.

With you on that one. Its the one thing that confuses me too. When you find out let me know,rockstar_not wrote:no you are not a moron.

'end-to-end' for an audio input means "I would like to monitor this input in real time, through any filters i care to set up for the track."
the global 'end-to-end' by the master section means "I would like to hear the above mentioned audio input (or play a MIDI synth plug) without having to press play first"
its not rocket science..
