They say 22 plugins and I count 20 on their product page including the effects rack. That's all we have at the moment, I think?

"The latest version of the Soundtoys 5 bundle brings together an expanded range of 22 audio effects, including the new SuperPlate plug-in. "

musicproducerdee wrote: Fri Apr 14, 2023 7:41 am Upon release, SuperPlate will be sold individually for $149 MSRP or as a trade-up from Little Plate to SuperPlate for $59.

Soundtoys 5.4 will be available for $499 MSRP or as an upgrade from Soundtoys 5.3 to 5.4 for $59.

SuperPlate can be added to the Effect Rack plug-in for $59.

Meanwhile, Arturia FX Collection 3 upgrade from Tape Mello-Fi and Filter MS-20, which they gave away for free $129. Which also includes EMT 140 reverb and also the new Lexicon 24 reverb. AND NO ILOK.
As much as I like SoundToys. They'll have to add more to 5.4 than the reverb plugin to make me want to update for the very reason you mentioned.

So everyone that wants this pays £59 regardless of what they already own?

Nope. Own nothing, pay 149.

Badly worded question on my part, obviously if you don't own anything by them it won't be that cheap.

Yes, that's the entry cost even if you own their whole catalog. If you don't own anything, the price goes to not worth it.

EDIT:
I genuinely think that anyone considering the Soundtoys bundle should take a look at Arturia FX Collection 3, it's way more versatile and updated more often, plus the upgrade prices are very flexible and customer friendly. Compressors, PreAmps, EQs, Bus Channel FX, Reverbs, Delays, Distortions, Flangers, Chorus, Filters, Phasers, they have it all and it's always expanding.

Not sure how any dev can think $149 is a viable price for a plate reverb plug-in in todays market.

I love the Arturia FX Collection as much as I love the Soundtoys Bundle for completely different reasons. I am never in doubt which to choose effects from. There is no such thing as Devil-Loc in the Arturia bundle. And there is no such thing as Coldfire in the Soundtoys Bundle. From my personal perspective, I don't feel they are exchangeable at all.

Re. updates and prices, yeah - Arturia is very active and has great support. Never had any problem with the support of Soundtoys either, but Arturias support is fantastic.

The Soundtoys plugins are 'useable' on my 109dpi screen, but I'm not spending any more money on non-resizable plugins.

People can make disparaging comments about the cost of the product without having any knowledge of the actual cost of research and development, and think it's fine.

Seems like uninformed opinions to me. Make your objective judgements when you have the demo, if you haven't already biased them with these uninformed opinions.

I like SoundToys too, they've been classic for a long long time. I still think they could've done more with their products. Resizable GUI's is a must in this day and age. Also, I wish they got rid of iLok. All that aside, their products work as they should, so no complaints there.

Arturia right now is on a roll. Pretty sure FX Collection 4 is round the corner.

Yes, I am allowed to make comments based on my personal opinion, whether they spend a million dollars on research or $1. Just because they spend a ravaging amount on research doesn't mean it's worth $149 to the customer. It's still a plate reverb plugin. And for me, at the moment, it's not worth $149. I'm not asking anyone to not spend money on their plugins. It's your dollars, not mine, spend it however you want, it means nothing to me. Developers have been releasing plate reverb plugins for decades now, yes decades. It's not something groundbreaking. Although good for Soundtoys for getting back into the game, excited to see what else they bring to the table. Their plugins have been classic for a long time :)

Just to provide a counter-voice on this iLok thing. It is a selling point for me, not a detractor. iLok haters are always loud in these threads. I am more likely to upgrade my Soundtoys than I am to buy into Arturia's effects. I love Little Plate, I have Arturia's plate, it was free, I still prefer Little Plate. I'm pretty certain that I'm going to like Super Plate.

I'm sorry but your opinion doesn't fall into the acceptable 'opinion range' as described by the KVR policies and directives. :)

I jest!

I trust it will be worth <the upgrade price for me>, because I trust their engineers. But I don't agree with your 'have a look at Arturia stuff' - I really don't rate their inefficient DSP or many of their emulations much at all. And that's my unshakable opinion.

iLok not a problem for me 🤷‍♂️ I’ve never seen the issue to be honest. I’ve got dozens of vst’s using it, never had a problem
I wonder what happens if I press this button...
