I don't have lustrous plates, it looks fantastic. I'm probably not going to buy it though, and I have nothing but respect Liquidsonics. I have Reverberate 3 and, IIRC, their EQ which I never use. I just haven't purchased more of their tools. Reverb is such a taste centric thing that it's hard to judge. Luscious plates won't work in Soundtoys rack. I don't always like to use aggregators like that, but since I have the bundle, it does get some use.vitocorleone123 wrote: Fri Apr 14, 2023 8:47 pmI deleted Little Plate long ago. I get far more use out of Lustrous Plates.ghettosynth wrote: Fri Apr 14, 2023 4:45 am Not gonna lie, I really like little plate. I will probably upgrade as long as it's not too much because they still use iLok. On the other hand, I might wait some 6 months/years too, don't know yet.
I'll demo this when it's out, but... I don't often use a lot of plate and LPS seems to cover my needs. To date, Liquidsonics has also been releasing new products and upgrades, unlike Soundtoys.

I just fainted.
Something new from Soundtoys after all these years - and even something really nice it seems!

I also had my issues with iLok, but during the last 5-6 years it's completely invisible for me. But yeah - resizable UIs is a must these days. Even if you just have a few selectable sizes. Dang - even the Waves horrid upscaling is better than nothing.musicproducerdee wrote: Fri Apr 14, 2023 9:14 am I like SoundToys too, they've been classic for a long long time. I still think they could've done more with their products. Resizable GUI's is a must in this day and age. Also, I wish they got rid of iLok.

It was more or less what we expected though. This plugin was teased/hinted at for a while by Soundtoys reps when asked about anything new coming - eg "Well, we often have a 'Little' plugin, which we then follow up with a bigger, more feature rich version, and we only have a Little Plate, and it's not in EffectRack", "No, there is no reverb in Effect Rack, but it's certainly something we'd like to do" etc etc.jens wrote: Fri Apr 14, 2023 9:22 pmSomething new from Soundtoys after all these years - and even something really nice it seems!![]()

I'm not sure why it took so long (even the current reps said it took a *long* time in various demos), even considering the effects of finding, buying, shipping, installing and modelling a bunch of fairly sizeable plates in their studios...
I do like Little Plate a lot, but I have so many reverb options now I'm a bit oversaturated for reverbs, and I'm not sure this new one is really going to add much of value - even though it does look nice... (and presumably sounds nice too, given Little Plate's pedigree).

Glad to see Soundtoys back in the game, but a new plate reverb is a huge meh for me personally. First off, I have way too many reverb plugins already, and a hard enough time choosing between them.
But even if that weren't the case-- little plate never wowed me to begin with. It's just one among a pile of plate reverbs, and I always preferred the sound of Valhalla Plate to it when I specifically wanted Plate Reverb flavors. Easy pass for me on this one. Hope they have some new stuff up their sleeves in coming months /years.

Yeah, but that's almost an unfair comparison. All reverbs from Valhalla are amazingmholloway wrote: Sat Apr 15, 2023 5:19 pm I always preferred the sound of Valhalla Plate to it when I specifically wanted Plate Reverb flavors.

Very underwhelming… I don’t really need another reverb, I’m more than covered by Valhalla, Lexicon PCM and Reaktor stuff. I’ll probably upgrade from 5.3 to 5.4 though as I don’t think I’ve had to purchase anything from them since V4…

It was good they did VST3 as a free update and this is an option...a lot would have bundled it together.
Like others have said, I dint really need another plate reverb but I will probably upgrade at some point to support the developers and get the new pre-sets...this added to the 'rack' is very convenient.
