is that still going? f**k me, i tried it, never been so bored. and i used to keep an eye on paint drying for employment.
I actually like Facebook, but it takes a bit of work. Like Jan (who I'm happy to be friends with on Facebook) said, it's as boring as your friends. It's easy enough to defriend someone who's an ass hole (as my oldest friend did to me when he found out I wasn't for Donald Trump), or mute their boring posts by unfollowing them but remaining friends. The key is finding fun friends who post interesting things. Like me! My feed has basically become tons of synth and guitar stuff. Science Fiction... science... cats. Lots of cats. A good rule of thumb to make Facebook interesting is to unfollow anyone who posts anything remotely mundane. If you post your dinner, that better be some damn photogenic grub, or you will get instantly unfollowed.
no, i know. i was taking the piss.
i didnt get bored of it so much, but had a lot of real world friends on there too, as well as people from online like here. i found it weird, being out with someone, maybe at the cinema, and my phone would ping to tell me "you are at the cinema with, he just posted on fb"
or getting home from a night out, and seeing my face all over the place
and i couldnt exactly block them, as they are friends, friends who can piss through my letterbox if i upset them too  so just kind of backed away and ignored it.
now, i know the pics get posted, but i dont have to see me being embarrassing :D

Care to give an example, please? Maybe we can explain...

That's the point of KVR.
Whatever is going on in your life,
With a click of your heels you can be far, far away...
And when you return, your life will feel meaningful in comparison.

Ah, I see your problem. You have actual friends. See, I don’t have those, so no worries there. Try getting rid of all your real friends and see if that helps your Facebook experience. :hihi:

Sure.
It was originally posted in the Instruments section as a parody of Diva Alternative and Hive Alternative.

Doesn’t matter though. Let it travel through time and space !

I hate having to be serious, but I left Facebook for good a couple of months ago after about 15 years. You can’t post anything anymore on this thing, you instantly get banned for any quote they’ve misunderstood.
I’m more a forumer anyway.

whats to misunderstand?
you said "mark suckerberg, has no lips, he might be a gecko. or maybe a skink."
i think its obvious what you meant, you think hes a lizard.
and he doesnt like his secret getting out, so you got banned.

Are we supposed to be serious here? Someone should have said something.

Yeah, the ubermaterialist wif all teh foodstuffs and the vintage phonographs and radio shite is doomed to the unfollow bin here. oddly these tend to be the ones pushing 1000 friendz. One guy posts very accomplished foodings and has a wicked sense of humor and two cats he rescued from feral cathood, and they’s happy kittehs, so I like the guy and I don’t suspect the 900 friends.
Except for around four RL friends in the beginning , ca ‘09 I have never sent a friend request. I cannot social climb, I think it’s genetic.
I don’t know know where these people came from - or more to the point why me - most of ‘em. FB suggested Don Van Vliet the day he died, which was somewhat disquieting.
