Yesterday I sent a letter to support describing the problem, but I think that this problem will not be solved, Tracktion, as always, will score on this. This problem goes from version to version! The problem is, when you assign any built-in modulator to any parameter on a plug-in that is on the same track, everything works fine. But, when you send this modulator to modulate parameters on any other track, and then add any plugin to that second track, all modulator settings on the second track are lost. But, this trick is sometimes very useful when using the Envelope follower and 8-band EQ, by assigning a modulator to the EQ filters, thus creating a kind of dynamic processing. Also, in its present form, 8-band EQ is completely unusable. He's uncomfortable. For some reason, the guys from Tracktion decided that they needed to go their own way and create an equalizer that was completely inconvenient to use. Where to control the addition / removal of eq filters is necessary in some intricate way. Why can't double click be used for this? Why can't the equalizer functionality be extended by adding an inversion along the X and Y axis, why can't we add the depth of impact after the inversion, why can't we add an AB comparison, why can't we compare the frequency response of two, three, etc. tracks? why not build into the equalizer, create, a function of pre-correction of the frequency response (with a ghost curve display on the lower layer), thereby allowing users to adjust the frequency response when using their headphones?? etc. Although this eq blurs the sound, the idea of having a good EQ built in is great. I cling to this equalizer because it is the most important tool, and if it works with a well-designed interface, rich functionality and minimal CPU usage, it's half the battle.
I want to add about modulators: create an infinite number of points for the Breakpoint Modifier!, create the ability to change the curvature of the segments, make this modulator more powerful, or create a new modulator. For those who may not know, any Modifier can be assigned by drag and drop to the open 8-band EQ filters. The question is, why not make it drag and drop to assign a Modifier to all built-in plugins? I'll add about modulators, why can't you change the parameters of one modulator with another modulator? These chips are cool, but they are underdeveloped.
Feelings that they stopped halfway and said: aah, and so it will do.
To put it bluntly, I'm not interested in most of the new features in the 12.5 update shown in the video. I'm waiting for stable work and thoughtful implementation of the existing functionality.
Thank you for your attention!
