i linked it up there btw, and i did think about getting one, even as a birthday gift (im useless at picking something when people ask what i want, because i buy the things i want, unless they're too expensive to ask for as a gift anyway) but realised, i don't really have anywhere sensible to mount it, where it wouldn't be in the way.

I think that something like this would work well, but nobody has them in stock.

I have heard some tell of “the outside world”, but I close my ears to such ridiculous babblings.

I like the look of that one!

You could even mount a second unit directly over the first one, on a short extension pipe. Then, hang up all your short cables on the top rack, and all the long cables on the lower rack. 8)

Build two (or more) large modules that are nothing but grid-arrays of unconnected 1/8" jacks. Install those into your modular, spaced far apart, and randomly plug both ends of all your extra cables into those unconnected jacks. The idea is, always keep all your cables plugged in at all times, even if they're just randomly plugged into these 'dummy' modules. Your friends will think you always have such elaborate patches, with tons of cables always being used, and you must be a genius to keep track of it all! :hihi:

(pssst, we call those "mults" and they waste rack space :x thank pan for off rack mults)
What I described isn't a mult. This is a far better space waster! :D

The jacks aren't connected to anything on the back side of the panel. All the jacks do is hold cables! :D

Great for builders, you can break the jacks in for better sound. If you plug both ends of a cable in, the cables get broken in with "atmospheric discharge" this helps the high end, I think. Well, something is high, I know that.

i like rabbyts meat hook suggestion tbh.
my skateboard was also a serious answer, its what i use. im pretty sure, like most people, you have something useless somewhere, that could be utilised.
even a towel rail would do for example. (the missus might miss it from the bathroom, but blame gnomes)
Yeah, I get that I can google them. I know what they look like. I was hoping that some people had been using them and had a preference for reasons. I see now that you're all a bunch of cheap-skates and are just tossing them across the back of a chair like a peasant.
I have a Pomona cable holder (the orange one is the right size for Euro patch cables) zip-tied to a wire shelf.

Ok, I'm not gonna wire tie a holder. I might mount one to an ultimate support pipe so I can put it in a clamp. In any case, next up is buffered mults.

I really enjoyed Mylar Melodies’ demo of the Cascadia synth from Intellijel.

Me too, this thing sounds great and the smart/compact implementation tickles me the right way too. Shame about the price tag, well out outside of my budget!

So, I've never really been a huge Oberheim fan and was also never really interested in an OB-6, despite always wanting to like it. However, I bought a Sequential Pro 3 a few months ago and I'm finding that my favorite of the three filters is the SVF from the OB-6. So, I've started revisiting OB-6 demos and now I think I want one. The thing is, I already have three Sequential poly/paraphonic synths (Prophet 6, Rev2, and Pro 3) that are not going anywhere, not to mention a PolyBrute. I definitely don't *need* an OB-6, but I just sold my Opsix and Digitone, which freed up some desktop space and inputs, so I'm flirting with the idea. Am I nuts to want four Sequential synths? :help:
The OB-6 is not really a "seqeuntial" synth though. I mean in the sense that the parts that, IMNSHO, contribute most to the tone are from Tom Oberheim. But, do you really want another 6 voice poly?

I'd definitely wait for NAMM.
Aaaaaaaannnnnddddddd..... purchased! OB-6 on the way.

Not as exciting as an OB-6! Congrats!!

I received my Beehive Plaits clone and gained an extra 4hp.

Sadly, I thought the 3 full-size attenuverters would be a plus, but now they obscure the mode switches. It's not the end of the world, but it's less friendly than the original layout where you can choose the model. Here you cycle through, moving up and down.

For how I use Plaits, the 4hp gain is worth the sacrifice of ergonomics.

*I also didn't realize the last update added another bank of sounds. I guess I should add the update to my other Plaits clone, which I'll likely sell.

Ears will not stay there but It'll have a new home later after some rack revisions later this year.
