Waldorf Micro Q Emulator (Vavra)

I don't think it's low I think it's the (incredible) filters. Interesting to me is I can (and am) running a project with at 3 instances of Osirus. There was 5. I haven't tried Vavra in a project but every patch shows 20% CPU. EVERY patch, which is kind of unusual. Also, switching stuff from Mono to Poly didn't seem to matter, which isn't the case with other VSTs. A good thing because I try this with another VST and it will bump CPU noticeably. For a first release it's incredible and can't wait to see what you do in the future. First little extra $$ I have around, I'm donating because yesterday was like early Christmas.

this emulator is an interesting concept, but from the users perspective, its legality is doubtful. And access , waldorf can decide they make their native plugin to earn some cash, like roland and korg did.
and if we dont look the native plugins only, we can say, there are many modern hq plugins...so this emu+rom is not my best choice. why should i choose this?

Why should they need to convince you?dune_rave wrote: Sun Apr 23, 2023 1:25 pm this emulator is an interesting concept, but from the users perspective, its legality is doubtful. And access , waldorf can decide they make their native plugin to earn some cash, like roland and korg did.

You shouldn't if you don't find it attractive. No one is forcing you. It is free.
You must have been living under a rock or something for the rest of the above. It has been debated all along. This team already contacted Waldorf before releasing this but Waldorf was not interested. It is a public article.
Basically, you can pass this one unless you don't have better things to do in your life than pretending you are a moral vertical beacon.

Steady 20% on every preset no matter how many voices. Pentium i3 lappy. Can't wait for the Supernova.

+1JamminFool wrote: Sun Apr 23, 2023 9:45 am the output level is very low. the amp volume on full and it is only half as loud as other plugins i use, including Osirus (for example).
is that happening for others, and is that expected?
yes here the same - volume quite low
i add an limiter/compressor (LA kind of) at the end of the channelstrip...
edit:
if you change the skin to "device" then the left most rotary under the lcd
lets you change the overall volume, aka "MasterVolume"...
...to 127 which is more than the default (which is 100)
hth
maybe "master volume" can be found somewhere in the "Edit skin"
or maybe the devs can have one in the next release (writing them on discord...)

This was happening to me a lot with the earlier alpha releases. Make sure you’re using the current beta.OrionAlpha101 wrote: Sun Apr 23, 2023 8:32 am Patch catecory crash the emulator on Mojave Logic 10.5.1

You don't get it 100% what I try to say.kmonkey wrote: Sun Apr 23, 2023 1:35 pmWhy should they need to convince you?dune_rave wrote: Sun Apr 23, 2023 1:25 pm this emulator is an interesting concept, but from the users perspective, its legality is doubtful. I like the concept, but how safe it is to use this in projects?
I mean is this legal? what about support? Ok, if you are a hobbyist, and it doesn't matter, than fine.

Osirus, Vavra, and any future plugins are based on the same emulator plugin (that’s why they need to be in separate subfolders) so it’s safe to assume that as long as the developers keep working, all of the plugins will be supported.
Having been a donator and alpha tester myself, I can tell you that the development of Vavra was amazingly quick. It went from being unusable for production work to the current state (which I consider to be near completion) in 1 week.
Multi-core support is in the works, 75 voice polyphony is in the works, and Microwave XT is in the works. Donate if you want to see these things come to fruition.

If you're worried about the legality, you probably shouldn't be showing 44-minute videos of you openly using these plugins on your YouTube channel.

I was finally able to get Vavra (all versions) working reliably in BitWig as well as Studio One and Ableton for VST2/3. Entirely user error. Guess I wasn't as experienced as I thought.

It’s not easy. The original Virus is the easiest one to start with since there’s a full support page for it, anything else needs info from the Discord. If you want to use Vavra, get the Discord app. If you want early access to future emulations or versions, get the Discord app. If you want to donate and show appreciation, get the Discord app.
