Did the Arpeggiator from Waveform 11 go away, or is it not included in the free version of Waveform 12?
On a related topic - SHOULD one be able to set input on a new track to be a track containing the arpeggiator and be able to RECORD the arpeggiator out as MIDI notes on the new track?
I find they play correctly on the "secondary" track's VST, but don't record at all (and the input meter doesn't show input from the primary track, which had the arp vst and no VST to swallow the notes). It's acting more like a MIDI send function received by the OUTPUT section of the secondary track, but bypassing the "record-level" functionality.
(I see the same with chord generator on Waveform 11 Pro and Waveform 12 Free). I thought I had done exactly what Bill had in his instructional video.

I have managed to do this but it was a while ago. I'm guessing I would have used a rack on track one, arp>vst plus midi connected to the output, and track two set to receive midi from track one, arm and record? Or render? . (so the recording the midi is a separate process from the vst) But, I don't understand why your method, with no vst on track one, wouldn't work. My memory is fuzzy on this, but it is possible

If this is the one you're after:
The arpeggiator in W12.1.x: drag the plus to the track and then Waveform and Effects. That submenu's in three parts, with the arpeggiator in the MIDI section.

[W10-64, T5/6/7/W8/9/10/11/12/13, 32(to W8)&64 all, Spike],[W7-32, T5/6/7/W8, Gina16] everything underused.

Maybe it's the free version doesn't include that. Under 11, I have 5 midi tools, like arpeggiator, repeater, chord player... Under 12 Free only chord player and MIDI modifier.

I did a quick test and I can set up as follows.
Track 1 input: midi keyboard > Plugin: Arpeggiator > default audio output
Track 2 input: route midi from track 1 > Plugin: synth > default audio output
Track 3 input: route audio from track 2 > default audio output.
Arm all three tracks, hit record play some chords on the keyboard and I get midi chords as played on track 1, arpeggiator output recorded as midi to track 2 and the synth audio output recorded to track 3. Waveform 12 Pro, although I would expect basic functionality like that would be shared with the free version?
