Do you not see the irony here? My opinion about long lists of plugins being useless is no more 'forum cop' than you telling me I shouldn't say such things. You're being every bit as much the 'forum police' as me by telling me that I need to behave otherwise. Multiple people posted long lists of plugins with no prompting other than "reverbs exist", and I shared my opinion about the utility value of doing so. Try not to lose any sleep over it :tu: .
As self-appointed forum cop I must insist that you stop telling someone to stop telling you to stop telling people to stop writing things. And don't you dare tell me to stop telling you to stop telling someone to stop telling you to stop telling them to stop writing something.

Reverb is awesome.

I've gotten to know this reverb well enough now, and I find myself using it more than LX480. It adds a silkiness which I haven't gotten from any other reverb that makes you say "yep, that's THE sound."

By the way, LX-24 is only taking 3% CPU at 48KHz (2% for MODERN mode), and 5% at 96KHz (all 3 modes) on my M1 Pro.

Did someone say self-appointed forum cop?

...I haven't! Still using it every day. One Room return, one Small Hall A return. Loving it. I usually tweak the length of the hall depending on the synths I'm sending to it.

I should spent more time with the Plate modes. They have a very bright and present sound, and thus require a bit more taming with the various controls. But the Small Halls are just golden with minimal tweaking.

I'd argue this dude doesn't exist, never did, and when threads about one plugin devolve into lists of tons of other plugins, the utility value of the thread is basically kaput.
Yep, this dude exists. Here he is. And he wants exactly that. And kaputt has two tees. I know. I’m a language cop.

Post

No, you're a spelling cop. I'm being a language cop.

Genau so ist es.

To a German it looks really weerd to sea it spelled with just one.

(It always confuses me when people use words from foreign languages without actually knowing how they're spelt. Why would you do that? Plus - what's probably worse - we don't use that word like that at all - it means broken, out of order but usually not figuratively. We might say "ich bin kaputt" (which means something like "I'm super exhausted", but we would not ever say something along the lines of "der Wert/der Informationsgehalt der Diskussion/Unterhaltung ist kaputt". One might perhaps say "Die Diskussion is kaputt", but even that sounds a little weird.)

Oh, that was of course absolutely by accident - just like the "weerd"...

nonono, I absolutely didn't make that spelling error on purpose in the given context. Why would you think that? Oh, right, you didn't.

Don't worry, FX Collection 4 is around the corner (next month as per my judgement). If you have FX Collection 3 and any of the later released plugins (especially the Filter MS-20 freebie) you should get a pretty irresistible deal on the upgrade which will make you feel glad that you slept on the LX-24 intro. :)

Post

Arturia tends to work it out so it’s a wash.

There are two advantages to getting the deal now, though.

The first is you break the upgrade price up so it’s a little easier to swallow (e.g. $50 now + $100 later vs. $150 at once.)

And more importantly, you get to use the plugins you bought right now. People here seem to overlook this a lot. If you just collect plugins so you’ll have a nice collection to display at your funeral, it doesn’t matter when you buy them. But if you buy plugins to use, then lost time is lost value. When you purchase a license, you’re purchasing access.
