Just checked out the Jup 4 and 8 v2 and I like the look, but not 100% sold on the new preset browser, it’s an improvement on the old modal window one but could do with manual tagging and tag filters.

I used to own an MKS-70 back in the day. I never had a JX-8P to compare it with, but I was always pretty disappointed with it so sold it. Bad combination of lacklustre sound and horrible front panel - that programmer would have helped I guess.Luka_Kostii wrote: Wed Apr 26, 2023 11:47 am MKS-70 and JX-10 sounded inferior to JX-8P in every comparison I've heard so far and it wasn't subtle. Even though Roland intended them to be JX-8P successors, "two JX in one" thing, it didn't work out like that. They couldn't succeed over and replace JX-8P.

Found this one explaining how to update the plugouts on the System 8Roman Wisniak wrote: Wed Apr 26, 2023 9:09 am Is Circuit Mod available on System's 8 plugout? Can anyone confirm? I don't see any System 8 firmware update...

Yes. It was first released with the JU-06 in 2015. So it predates the System 8 too. The 60 was released with the 2019 "A" update.
Possibly. Though the remarks were meant more specifically about the likelihood of new ACB products, and how they've often been tied to hardware considerations. The Jupiter 4 was a notable exception though, whether planned or due to "pandemic difficulties". If planned then it's possible future ACB stuff might not be so tied to other hardware. Guess we'll see..Taking into consideration the new 2.0 circuit modelling tweaking allows you deeper access to what technicians used in "service mode", I'll wager the ACB work was bit more involved than we think.

What about VST3 M1 arm support in Juno-v2, Jupiter-8-v2 and Zenology-v2? Or is ARM still only in the AUs available?

Hi everyone! My name is Jon and I work for Roland Cloud. I'm seeing a lot of people asking what has changed with v2 of the Jupiter-4, Jupiter-8 and JUNO-106 so I thought I'd share some resources on the new feautres.
All three instruments are now AU/VST/AAX fully Silicon Native. We also added a Circuit Mod knob and new sound banks. We made changes to the interface of each instrument, updated the graphics and made some adjustments to workflow including a new searchable browser that allows you to rate all your favorite patches. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

Hi, Lbdunequest. Yep! We definitely get requests for the JP-8080 specifically. Generally, when we build software instruments, we look at both the main instrument and the rack mount versions to see which features or patches people want the most. We'll add your vote for the JP-8080 specifically to the request list for this week.Lbdunequest wrote: Tue Apr 25, 2023 5:29 am Brian.McClelland have you thought of bringing back Roland JP8080 (not 8000)?
Hi, Aloysius. Sound Canvas VA definitely has a dedicated following. We've got your request for SCVA to be updated to our list.Aloysius wrote: Wed Apr 26, 2023 5:31 pm Will Roland Cloud Sound Canvas VA be going VST3 on Windows at some point?
Hey, ChamomileShark & racer. You got it! That bandpass is a great filter. We've got your vote for the SH-5 covered.sacer wrote: Tue Apr 25, 2023 9:49 am+ 1 for sh5 and jupiter 6ChamomileShark wrote: Tue Apr 25, 2023 9:43 am Brian.McClelland well if you are looking for things to add to the weekly list please add the Roland SH5. I have a hardware SH2 & SH101 but I really like the earlier generation. The System 100 sounds great but the SH5 adds in the bandpass filter amongst other things.
Hey, J Veronica. Got that JX-8P request logged for you. Have you tried the new JUPITER-8 v2 yet? We just added the Circuit mod to the JUNO-106, JUPITER-8, and JUPITER-4. It's such a fun way to push the bounds of your favorite instruments.J Veronica wrote: Tue Apr 25, 2023 9:30 pm I just want a JX-8P to load into my System 8.
And maybe a Jupiter 8 rev2 with the Circuit Mod from the J4![]()
Hey, Septic. We keep the request list as a running tally that way when we do gear up for production for new instruments, we are up with the current feedback from the community. We're always interested in what people want to see in Roland Cloud!Septic Underground wrote: Tue Apr 25, 2023 8:32 amLol, that weekly request list for the alpha juno must be many entries by now.Brian.McClelland wrote: Mon Apr 24, 2023 10:21 pm Hey, ReiKru & randomtestsubject. The Alpha JUNOs are some of my favorite Roland synths as well. I'll add these votes to our weekly request report.
But it is really sad they never go from that list to the productionlist.
Just say no, it aint that hard.
Hey, EnochLight. Sounds fun! I might take that wager.EnochLight wrote: Wed Apr 26, 2023 12:53 am
THIS X1000!!!! Been asking Brian M for years. All I get is “we hear you”. Roland has no intention of doing an ACB JX-8P. I’d wager our System 8’s are officially deprecated (despite the fact you can still buy them new).
Hey, Roman Wisniak. Yes! You can control Circuit Mod on the SYSTEM-8 for compatible PLUG-OUTS. OSC 3 Color knob will do it if a JUPITER-8, JUNO-106, or JUPITER-4 is loaded. Great question!Roman Wisniak wrote: Wed Apr 26, 2023 9:09 am Is Circuit Mod available on System's 8 plugout? Can anyone confirm? I don't see any System 8 firmware update...
Hi, Iva. Thanks for checking out the new Legendary versions! We've heard reports of this on some systems. If you are experiencing spiking with the instruments, try the Optimize for Lower CPU setting in the Options menu. This helps alleviate CPU cost and smooth out the response. Another option is to increase the buffer size, or try 2/4/6 voices in the Voice Limit settings.Iva wrote: Wed Apr 26, 2023 5:39 pm VTS3 in Cubase 12 apple silicon native absolutly unusable, damn... Crazy realtime spikes
If you are still experiencing issues, let us know your OS, DAW version, and which instrument through the Support Portal in the top right corner in the Settings menu in the top right corner of Roland Cloud Manager, and we'll review for testing.
Hey, Hanz Meyzer. The Legendary v2s are good to go for ARM. Try em out!Hanz Meyzer wrote: Wed Apr 26, 2023 9:49 pm What about VST3 M1 arm support in Juno-v2, Jupiter-8-v2 and Zenology-v2? Or is ARM still only in the AUs available?

Hey Jon and Brian!
First, the new preset browser is fantastic and I'm really happy with it. Circuit Mod is really great at moderate setting for making them sound like my old Rolands. And I'm ready to go Silicon soon, so thanks!
About the CPU...there are some problems I've noticed which match what others have mentioned. I've been running Roland Cloud since 2018 and am very familiar with how it performs. On my 2019 Macbook Pro (i9 2.6GHz Intel in latest Logic Pro/Ventura), the CPU is maxing out a core now with the plugin window open and lots of crackles. This didn't happen before. When I close the plugin GUI, they CPU drops to between 40-50% on that core-but-it does spike up regularly to 75-100%. Just another data point for you to pass along.
I'm very much looking forward to the JX-3P going v2 and please add my request to the hundreds already for a JX-8P.

Hm, the reports about crazy cpu spikes on Mac arm bother me. A native arm version should be at least as twice as fast as a rosetta2-translated version. Also cpu spikes are a total no-go in real-time calculation. The Synths sound indeed nice in the videos, but it seems to be an beta regarding optimization…. Also i wonder if zenology v2 vst3 now runs natively on arm, too. Why aren’t you explicitly printing a detailed arm compatibility info in the specs? Au only is not enough for me, as my daws do not support au at all.

So I have a TR-8S. I like it a lot. But sometimes I really just want to (shocker) work with my computer screen. I also have their TR editor but it is not VST plugin. So my question would be - is there any plan to release editr as a VST or perhaps there will be TR-8S VST plugin?

With the Circuit Mod on the J8, I'm all set. Any other ACB instruments are a blessing at this point. Incredible for a 6-7 year old synthesizer to still be getting expansions.

These older synth manufacturers simply lost tempo...Septic Underground wrote: Wed Apr 26, 2023 7:06 am DONT UPDATE!!!!
Just posted this on GS:
haha wtf, i just checked the new ones and it is totally unusable with cpu spiking now, never had that here on my macpro,
it fecking eats 10 total threads/5 cores on triggering some notes, crackles and pops all around.
Goddamn what a amateurish BS is this Roland.
They killed those 3 plugs now LOL. No way to go back to the earlier versions ofc, great beta testing guys. Kudos
For example, take Diva, Omnisphere, Spire + Kontakt for hq acoustic instruments. That's all you need. It runs fine even on laptop, providing it's high spec.
For live performances, though, I would still choose hardware synth.
Win laptop may try to update itself in the middle of the concert

Well, Legendary Series of Plugins is definitely NOT VST 3 AS Native...!
The only Roland Plugins that pass verification by Cubase 12 Pro and Ableton Live Suite 11 are:
- JD-800
- Juno 106
- Jupiter 4 and 5
- Zenology and Zenology FX
When is the rest coming... It's been a long time...

Hahahaha - man, you're killing us. I mean, the fact that no one from Roland/Roland Cloud has literally said "no, we can't do an ACB of the JX-8P that will run on the System 8" does give me hope, but dude - DUDE - it's been years. If we have to start a Kickstarter to fund the dev time, let us know and I'll start one!Brian.McClelland wrote: Thu Apr 27, 2023 12:59 amHey, J Veronica. Got that JX-8P request logged for you.
