YOU, said , " I've been responding to other people's arguments that don't make sense," you can't have it both ways, you can't argue that someone is misrepresenting your opinion and everyone is entitled to an opinion, then continue to argue that anyone who disagrees with you is wrong. I mean you can, it's just awkward.
This is becoming a waste of space now. If you're not trolling, and you genuinely just need this much help understanding this, you can send me a PM as its gone off topic.

Don't want to seem like a forum police, but relevant posts will get lost in this unnecessary discussion, so please let's stick to the topic.

Also, it's better to limit the comparisons and talk more about the synth in question. If you don't like it and don't intend to buy it, just stop visiting this topic.

Agreed.

The current arrangement feels a bit unconventional to me.
I think the delay should show the delay times, and the chorus needs a depth knob. For now I'm mostly using external effects, but the fx are high quality. A second envelope for the filter would go a long way too but I can do that with bitwig

That would be nice, but I think adding anything more would probably not be on the radar of Baby Audio, as it could cause a significant GUI change as well. I am not a fan of sliders, but can't do anything about it.

I would appreciate any improvements they can bring in while retaining its simplicity. I personally don't like the reverb sound as much though, so would run it through external reverb once I buy and start using it.

Favoriting presets would be nice from the first synth itself (especially since there are a ton of them), so that it can become an integral part of any future synths.

I am loving the presets. Such a simple synth, but so many possibilities. Very cool sound too.

LoveEnigma18 wrote: Sat Apr 29, 2023 5:04 pm I am trying the demo now (nice little synth and sounds good, awesome presets) and noticed that when exporting the song from FL Studio the BA-1 tracks don't have any audio, that is, there is no sound of BA-1 tracks in the exported music.
Using FL Studio 21.0.3.
Could you please check if it's a bug on your side, which seems to be the case to me?
I will be unable to buy this synth if this bug is not fixed.
Thanks for reporting this. It's a known bug reported by a few other users. We're currently fixing it - and some other minor bugs - and are planning on having the update out next week. It will address the FL studio issue as well as some of the issues experienced by people on older Mac systems (+ more).

Also, thanks for all the general feedback, everyone. Both those of you who want more features and those who like it simple. We take it all in for consideration.

BA-1 is our first synth but it will not be our last. And we will likely build more complex products in the future as well. We even talked about doing a BA-1 XL at some point that adds all the features that have been requested by users. On the one hand, it'd be cool -- but on the other hand it feels a little counterintuitive to make a CS01 emulation with a CS80 feature set... But maybe that's something people want? Either way, we'll still keep BA-1 in its current form as well. Simplicity can be very creatively empowering and the idea with BA-1 was to build something around that idea.

Thanks again for all the interest. We genuinely appreciate it!

That's excellent. Thank you so much for your reply and update. Looking forward to the fixes (and buying it next week) and any small improvements/additions you plan to add over time to BA-1. :tu:

I hope you will be sending out an email when the update is available. I remember getting an email for Crystalline 1.3 in the past, which is appreciated, so would like the same in future for all your products. And also kindly add version number in the about/bypass screen for all the plugins, as some of them don't have it currently. I just want to make sure I am up to date with all my Baby Audio plugins. Thank you. :)

Got it -- and agree -- we're on it :)

Okay. :tu:

One more small observations (which has been the case for many VST3 plugins actually): If I save the BA-1 as favorite to FL Studio's Plugin Database with a specific GUI size, recalling it from the database loads it with the default size and not the size I had set. Please check if this can be addressed. Thanks. :)

Is Baby Audio already looking into the situation in which the VST doesn't load on a laptop?
Not the 32 bit, 64 bit or the standalone version.
It is mentioned in this tread and I am experiencing the same behaviour for BA-1.

Kind Regards,

For me, it comes down to trying to provide good advice, not just any old advice based on how I'm feeling right at the moment.
If there are people who like extreme synthesis, don't like this one, why are they trying to make the BA-1 what it's not meant to be?
This is something we can definitely agree upon. All it needs from those people is a simple acknowledgement that it's not for them.
I'm sorry if anyone thinks I'm targeting my post towards them, I'm really not, it's just a general observation I'm having.
It's a pretty good, fair observation from where I'm sitting.
I don't mean to offend anyone.
I do.

OK - this is the funniest thing I've read on KVR ;)

Back OT - seriously Audio Babies (I dub thee) - just give me some dotted/triplet sync times, and I'm a fanboi!

That's great to hear, thanks for letting us know!

BA-XL would be great! I agree it is counterintuitive to emulate the sound of cs01 and the exact features of cs80, but its an evolution, it can just have its own features and be its own thing, like how diva and omnisphere take the core sound of analog synths but have their own set of features.

BA-1's sound quality is up there with diva etc. I'd prefer BA-2 to at least include BA-1's oscillators, as I like their colour, but it could include other oscillators from different synths. I'd also be happy with just keeping the current oscillators and adding more features and patchability. The pwm sounds good but controls for the starting pulse width and pwm depth would be great. And that's good that BA-1 will be kept as an option.

I've been blocked completely from entering the download site. Windows says it's been reported as an unsafe site that may steal financial info, and/or has malware. Anyone else run into this? I'm going to assume it's incorrect. Strange.

I just tried it now and got straight to their site with no problems. Which browser are you using? Maybe you need to loosen your security settings a little?

It's working perfectly well on my laptop. How would a plugin even know it was on a laptop?

I didn't see this one before -- sorry. This is not standard behavior for sure. Is there any chance you can email us at support@babyaud.io with your systems specs and a description of the issue? Then we will look into a fix for this week's update.

Yes, we're aware of this. It's related to the Microsoft Edge browser and you should be fine if you just use Chrome instead. Microsoft has a history of labelling links potential malware when they're not – especially if there's suddenly a lot of download activity. It even happened to the Adobe Suite at some point. We've obviously submitted a ticket with Microsoft to confirm that it's not malware and asked them to review the files so they can whitelist them. (Needless to say the files are not malware!!). At some point, the warning should clear. It's happened to us before, I think it was with Crystalline which also had a lot of downloads. Sorry for the inconvenience!
