I have been contemplating a DD 200. Smaller than the 500 and will run on AA batteries which I like. I have a draw full of rechargeables and hate cables.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Fri Apr 28, 2023 3:22 pm I’ve got my eyes open for a good deal on a hardware delay unit too, either a Boss DD500 or a Strymon Timeline. Anyone recommend one?

Rangoon (MI Rings clone) arrived today!
Poly Effects Hector arrived on Wednesday. I still have Beebo, but I'll likely sell it off soon.
Not sure if I'll keep Hector, but I plan on using it for the next year, or at least until I know which modules I use the most.

i dont think hector is something id personally want, but it does look nice there! and does seem quite powerful too tbh. plenty of ins and outs too, which is where the disting always put me off.
those mi clones look nice too, and do seem to save a lot of rack space compared to the mi originals

Hector's real strength is i making a smaller rack seem much larger, or, for exploring ideas that you aren't sure if you want in modular.vurt wrote: Sat Apr 29, 2023 7:06 pm i dont think hector is something id personally want, but it does look nice there! and does seem quite powerful too tbh. plenty of ins and outs too, which is where the disting always put me off.

both of which seem like reasonable ideas really.ghettosynth wrote: Sat Apr 29, 2023 8:04 pmHector's real strength is i making a smaller rack seem much larger, or, for exploring ideas that you aren't sure if you want in modular.vurt wrote: Sat Apr 29, 2023 7:06 pm i dont think hector is something id personally want, but it does look nice there! and does seem quite powerful too tbh. plenty of ins and outs too, which is where the disting always put me off.

im just very wary of anything with a screen, as im a clumsy bastard
all im seeing is, headstock meets hector

I'm not a fan of having a screen in the rack... It's exactly what I was wanting to get away from, and It's one of those things where you quickly realize that having a mouse would be easier, but it is definitely going to help explore more.vurt wrote: Sat Apr 29, 2023 8:10 pmboth of which seem like reasonable ideas really.ghettosynth wrote: Sat Apr 29, 2023 8:04 pmHector's real strength is i making a smaller rack seem much larger, or, for exploring ideas that you aren't sure if you want in modular.vurt wrote: Sat Apr 29, 2023 7:06 pm i dont think hector is something id personally want, but it does look nice there! and does seem quite powerful too tbh. plenty of ins and outs too, which is where the disting always put me off.

I really like Marbles, Warps, Tides and the parasites firmware for Clouds. I'll need to see what happens when the novelty wares off a bit to see what I'd like to keep.
Plus, once I create presets to my liking... this will work more like an interchangeable module (so long as I have a method for routing things/or if I add it to the description).

They're pretty expensive these days but look out for a Behringer clone (HM300 I think) or an old Arion Metal Master. The TC Eyemaster is an HM2 with the EQ knobs maxed I think. I've A/Bd the Behringer and Arion with an original MIJ HM-2 and they're pretty much identical.

Just put my order in for Gliss.
The crowdfunding things always make me nervous, but it says a ship date of tomorrow!
Let’s see how it goes, but I’ll be excited if it arrives and works as expected.
I still need to order a few utility modules for mixing signals. Soon… very soon.

I thought that these looked pretty cool, but I really dislike crowdfunding and it wasn't really cheap enough to trigger the risk-taking for me. Let me know how awesome it is an how much I missed out.elxsound wrote: Sun Apr 30, 2023 10:26 pm Just put my order in for Gliss.

Definitely, but I think this is going remain available after the 1st… but as the last update was the end of March, we shall see what’s real tomorrow.ghettosynth wrote: Sun Apr 30, 2023 11:08 pmI thought that these looked pretty cool, but I really dislike crowdfunding and it wasn't really cheap enough to trigger the risk-taking for me. I won’t have a good measure of this. I saw joysticks getting used and thought this could be a nice compromise at just 4hp. I really like the recording feature, but no experience for these things outside of software x/y pads.

That was the original ship goal, but the last update said
But still... soon, hopefullyThe fine tuning of the BOM and fabrication of custom headers has set us back a little bit, but we hope that it will only be a couple of weeks, and no longer than a month with respect to the original delivery date of May 1st.

Ah, you know I read that 3 times and I read what I wanted to read, which was that they were still shooting for May 1st! But the quote makes sense now that I see it here.foosnark wrote: Mon May 01, 2023 2:39 amThat was the original ship goal, but the last update said

Alternately, the LS1 Lightstrip Touch Controller, has been around quite a few years...ghettosynth wrote: Sun Apr 30, 2023 11:08 pmI thought that these looked pretty cool, but I really dislike crowdfunding and it wasn't really cheap enough to trigger the risk-taking for me. Didn’t know about that one! Also 4hp.
If things don’t work out with Gliss, I’ll order that.
Gliss has some extra features including longer record times and a dual mode, but at $75, I could be okay with the limitations.
I see they have the light pane which offered an x/y pad. Not sure what would be more useful between a joystick and a touch capacitive x/y pad, but nice price.

dunno about more useful, but a light up xy pad sounds like it would look cool
i have a joystick on my bug modular, i use it far less than i thought i would.
however, my bug has a lot less going on than even just my make noise skiff, so could probably be far more useful in euro format.
