I'm in the process of transferring a bunch of tunes from my (older and possibly primitive-MIDI-having) hardware sequencers (MMT-8 & HR-16) to Tracktion. I set the tempos on the hardware & in Tracktion the same, hit record, and try to nail the start time as best I can, with the idea of quantising the result afterwards. The problem is that some notes are skipped and/or horribly out of time. The CPU meter seems to spike in the areas of these notes, which is weird.
Anyone else having problems getting MIDI to record accurately?
I'm feeding the notes to the built in sampler, BTW, but the notes are recorded out of time regardless of which instrument is used.
My setup:
Mac OS X 10.3.7
G4 1.3 GHz Powerbook
Midiman Midisport 2x2
Tracktion NFR version
This would be easier if I could sync up MIDI clock, BTW...
Thanks for any help/info!
UPDATE:
I realize now that the note lengths weren't long enough for Tracktion. Way to go 25 year old MIDI... Anyone got a patch for heiroglypics support?
