MDrummer 16.05 crashes with Dangerous Punk

Hi, I've upgraded to maudio 16.05.
I'm experiencing MDrummer plugin crashes on Windows 11 and on Linux/Yabridge using Bitwig 5 beta6 and Bitwig 4.4.10 stable.
If I save a project where I select the drum kit "DrumEmpire2020/Experimental/Dangerous Punk", when I reload the project and play, the plugin crashes. In order to make it work, I have to reload the toolkit after the project load, then everything works.
I understand it sounds strange, but that's what happen.
It works perfectly with 16.04. I'm sending this report to Bitwig too.
Steps to reproduce:
- create a project containing the MDrummer plugin in a track. For your convenience, choose to map all channel to 10 in the track inspector in order to play with keyboard
- select the Dangerous Punk preset from the Experimental Under Drum Empire 2020
- save the project
- reload the project
- play any note -> plugin crash
- reload the project
- open the MDrumemr interface and re-select the very same drum-kit in order to reload it
- play the notes -> it works
Regards,
Fabrizio

Yes, looks like it can be related to Bitwig. Another user in Bitwig/Yabridge group has tested on Reaper and it works there.
I've already sent a report to Bitwig, too, as I wrote.
Anyhow, I thought it was useful to report the problem here, because with 16.04 it doesn't happen so there might be something related to what has been changed.
My intent is to try to be useful.

Fabrizio

Using Bitwig 4.4.10 and yabridge in Xubuntu 22.04, it did not crash. The only thing that's different was the use of channel 10. Instead, after reloading the project, I used the MDrummer 'Drum Pad Mode' to hear a few drum instruments when playing the keyboard.

Mevla, did you use the same preset? Most of the other presets do work fine for me too. And might you be so kind to try Bitwig 5 too? Thanks in advance. Other people have the same problem as I do

Yes, of course I used the same preset. I did my share of software testing / running tests in the pastfsciarra62 wrote: Tue May 02, 2023 8:45 pm Mevla, did you use the same preset? As for Bitwig 5, no. The reason is that I'm in no rush at all even though there are many new features that are very, very interesting and also, I don't really like running beta software without any real need to do so. Also I might sync Bitwig 5 with getting new computer hardware.
Ciao.

Maybe it's possible to use a debug version of MDrummer if it's OK with Melda ?

I'm at full disposal to further test it. Just tell me what to do

Well, for a MDrummer test debug version it will have to do with Melda.fsciarra62 wrote: Wed May 03, 2023 6:03 pm I'm at full disposal to further test it. Just tell me what to do

And where should I ask if not here? I thought this was the support forum.

I do not work for Melda, I cannot say. As it's the case with many others, a direct email can trigger a direct response.fsciarra62 wrote: Wed May 03, 2023 9:57 pm And where should I ask if not here? I thought this was the support forum.

Mevla, I've sent an email with a recorded video of the crash on windows 11 to Meldaproduction support team.
The install on Windows is a fresh one, from the installers, no upgrades nor copy, clean and fresh->crash!
Just to be sure.
Might you be so kind to try the very same configuration I did, that means *including* the channel 10 remap, then share your results?
Thanks for your help, if you can.

Maybe, it can be of help if I try to post the video here, too.
The very same happens also if the data comes from a clip instead of live.
That is different from clicking on the MDrummer interface because in that case the MIDI isn't involved.
So, I believe that the mapping and the midi input is essential for the bug to trigger.
And this happens only with some kits, Dangerous Punks is surely one of those.
Here is a link to the file (too big to be attached here)

Hope this helps to understand and to confirm.

Sorry for the delay I haven't dropped by recently. I'm not so sure about duplicating the exact same channel 10 remap because form a testing point of view it cab be easily dismissed since I do not use Windows but Linux instead. From a software testing perspective this is not a good test. It should be done using the exact same environment. Especially since Melda does not support Linux officially.fsciarra62 wrote: Sun May 14, 2023 11:17 pm Just to be sure. Hi, as said, I do use Linux too. I thought you knew and I wrote it: I perform and compose and record and do music solely on my Linux Manjaro, with Yabridge and wine-tkg to run Windows stuff. The video is on windows because the bug is the same on windows too, and the support takes windows more seriously. I don't. At all. I use windows only for some gaming here and then, when I don't run on Steam on Linux, those too.
And, well, the channel 10 is important because it happens when the plugin responds to Midi triggers. And MDrummer doesn't act the same on other channels, because channel 1, to mention, activates the phrases of the inner arranger and not the single instruments of the toolkit for each midi note.
Thanks for your patience.
