They mentioned the increasing number of data types (wavetables, convolution IR's, saved curves, etc.) as one reason for the new browser. I don't understand the tech behind it so I have no basis to effectively judge the choice.

I'm pleased with the new browser cause it is better for my mainly keyboard based use of it. But if you had asked me whether I wanted a new browser or midi comping, I would have picked the midi comping.

If that’s the case… then it make sense to sort it out now.
Just take the time to make a MIDI Comping right and hopefully how you suggested: Hybrid!

Hybrid comping would be so awesome! Bounce to Take, Yes!

Is it a bug or what as I cannot find presets? For example I put Bitwig compressor. I simply cannot find presets for it.

Probably not, I also find quite difficult to find all sort of stuff now...
I confess, I am having a hard time making sense of it.

Only presets I can currently find are my own Polygrid presets. Nothing else.

Did you update packages? You may need to.

There should be some presets for the Bitwig Compressor. About a dozen. Other people have reported similar issues.

If you are using the v5 browser, then, making sure that the compressor is in the main list, click on the > icon to the right of the compressor name. If no presets appear, you may need to reindex your library. Sorry I’m not near my computer ATM, you’ll have to find out how to do that yourself 😉

Yeah, everything is updated. Now I'm checking Bitwig drum machine and I remember there used to be quite a lot presets. Now zero.

Edit: Went back to beta 4 and presets are available. Maybe I should send something about this to Bitwig. Thanks anyway for your answers! :)

It would be nice if in v5 they implemented an option to use the old browser as well, for example Settings -> User Interface -> Use old browser (Bitwig must be restarted)

If they are working on a set of items (and who knows what else) new to BW category then the old one needs to be modified as well…
