Hi all. I'm running Waveform 12 on Windows and when I'm recording MIDI through a piano VST Waveform seems to drop some notes or pedal inputs randomly. There aren't any dropped notes when just monitoring but hitting 'record' seems to introduce the occasional dropped note in inopportune places. To be clear, 99% of notes record fine, but that still means at least one or two notes get dropped every other recording. Curiously, the recordings themselves usually include all the notes, but monitoring while recording is compromised, which can mess up an entire performance.
I mainly just use waveform for recording solo piano at the moment, so there isn't anything too CPU intensive going on.
This happened on Waveform 11 too actually, but at some point I changed a setting that seemed to fix it (I believe it was switching to the non experimental engine?). Any tips for how I could mitigate the issue?
Running Windows 11 on a Surface Laptop Studio with a Core i7. Controller is currently a Kawai MP11SE, but it happened with my old Casio PX-560 as well. I use various piano VSTs and they all seem to suffer from the occasional dropped note.
Thank you in advance! I really love Tracktion other than this recurring issue.

Manual on Kawai isn't really clear on if/how aftertouch is supported - whether it's really keybed aftertouch, or only faked aftertouch using the 4 knobs. Check using MIDI monitor if there are actually any (or a lot!) of aftertouch messages being sent. I had similar problems with an XKEY as it would send constant aftertouch messages - although fortunately it had a mechanism to throttle that (i.e. only allow a fixed number/second) - and it would swamp the USB link and force a LOT of processing.
Other thing is - try disconnecting network if you can. Windows sometimes takes lots of processing/disk resources when updates come through. First 5 minutes after powering up a windows box (and when it comes in/out of screen saver !!) can cause glitches.

Thanks for the tips! Neither the Kawai nor Casio send aftertouch, so I don't think that's the issue, nor do I have issues in Studio One, Cubase, or Reaper. I just like Waveform more so I'd like to get it working!
