Nope! Akai specifically say that audio interfaces must be truly USB Class Compliant for it to work with Force/MPC, so it's a mystery. I brought it to Akai's attention and they told me they really have no idea why it's working, unless Roland slid an update in (which, according to the MX-1 firmware, it hasn't been updated in many years).

So, you’re using it with a PC with a sound card/interface that uses standard ASIO and it brings in all, 18?, channels of the MX-1 audio?

No, sorry for the confusion. I'm using my MX-1 as a multichannel (all 18 tracks) audio interface for my Force, that's it. It's not hooked up to my computer. My point was, Force/MPC requires USB Class Compliance for audio interfaces to work with them (as there is no driver install), so the fact that multichannel audio works with Force/MPC but not a computer is a mystery.

Maybe I got it backward then. I thought the driver was a Roland one not a class compliant one.

WatchTheGuitar wrote: Sat Apr 29, 2023 6:13 pm The problem is they’re using the TR-8S USB to pipe MIDI and Audio so either they need to use a driver or they need to create a tech like Elektron developed with Overbridge that enables a plugin to handle the multi channel audio. I would love that because right now I don’t use my TR-8S as I don’t have enough spare audio inputs to handle the discrete tracks.
There is a driver. Or am I missing something?
I mean a Roland built driver you have to install rather than a class compliant one.

Ah ok, I think it’s just the typical Windows issue of the interface hogging ASIO.
Was hoping by Windows 11 there would be signs of something better that could do low latency and multiple interfaces, but as they’ve not even agreed on a working MIDI 2 driver yet I guess that’s not happening any decade soon.

Still on a 2019 MBP here and everything seems to be working fine.

First, the new preset browser is fantastic and I'm really happy with it. Circuit Mod is really great at moderate setting for making them sound like my old Rolands. And I'm ready to go Silicon soon, so thanks!

About the CPU...there are some problems I've noticed which match what others have mentioned. I've been running Roland Cloud since 2018 and am very familiar with how it performs. On my 2019 Macbook Pro (i9 2.6GHz Intel in latest Logic Pro/Ventura), the CPU is maxing out a core now with the plugin window open and lots of crackles. This didn't happen before. When I close the plugin GUI, they CPU drops to between 40-50% on that core-but-it does spike up regularly to 75-100%. Just another data point for you to pass along.

I'm very much looking forward to the JX-3P going v2 and please add my request to the hundreds already for a JX-8P.
Hi Synthient Sound! Jon from Roland Cloud. Happy to hear you are enjoying v2! I love the Circuit Mod, it adds so much complexity and unpredictability to every patch!

We always appreciate the feedback and are actively testing to try and recreate the issues some users are experiencing. Some tips you can try in the meantime. There is an option to "Optimize for Lower CPU Usage", you can find this by clicking the settings button in the upper right corner of the instrument window. This can really help in large sessions with a ton of moving parts. You can also try increasing the Buffer Size from 128 to 512 samples in your daw. And depending on how much polyphony you are using you can try lowering the number of voices. You can find this option in the same drop down menu where you find Optimize for Lower CPU Usage. Let us know if you have any questions! Thanks so much!
Hey Jon, this is a new problem with the v2...have had the originals for a long time. Spiking CPU is not a matter of buffer size here and I would never record at 512. I don't like to record at even 128, but I set it just to try the v2s. I'm reporting that there is a problem with the code. My computer has plenty of power for all my other plugins.

Would have rather heard that you guys acknowledge the problems we are having and are working on it. It is ok to say something more than we are trying to recreate it.
Hi Synthient Sound. I understand your frustration. We are always willing to share the most current information that we have. Roland is a big company with a lot of moving parts and the last thing we want is to disappoint peoples expectations by promising something and the end result being different than what was promised. Just for clarification when I say we are testing, this means that we are taking in the feedback you share with us and trying to find the source of the issue so that we can make strategic updates going forward. Just know that we take your feedback very seriously and are working on resolving this issue. Thank you for your patience.

Hello!
I'm having trouble with concerto, I moved my *.rvr files to another drive (out of system drive)

Now I cant get the concerto instrument find the files when I start it in my daw.
I have followed these instructions, https://rolandus.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/a ... m-location
but the folder does not seem to "stick". When I restart the instrument, it does not have anything to choose from.

Thanks in advance!

Hey Strainer! Jon from Roland Cloud. I'll reach out to you in a private message and we'll get this figured out. Thanks!

What two instruments should I get to keep? I am coming to the end of my year sub and can pick two to keep. Not sure if I will renew or not.

What you keep is really subjective: totally up to you. There are a couple YouTubers that do excellent demos of pretty much all the Roland synths. One is Espen Kraft from Norway and the other guy is Woody from Woody's Piano Shack. Both are technically very sound and also each hilarious in their own way. If you go watch some of their vids, you can hear and see Roland Cloud stuff, also hardware, great comparisons and a lot of cool stuff.
I spent a few hours today with the Juno 106 and Juno 60 both of which I had hardware versions of wayyy back in the day. The Cloud versions are really good. Roland is likely moving as fast as they can to keep with all the insane demands made by people here and in other forums. The new version of Zenology sounds really good and IMHO Roland is kicking ass right now.
So think about what kind of music you will be making and which synth you have been spending the most time with and that is likely going to be your answer.

Which two instruments did you use the most during your entire year of use? Pick those two.**
