Damn it. You're right. I can barely think of anything else right now. One more week.
Then I counter with some extremely beautiful hardwood desktop stands from DeltaArts Poland. Slow to deliver. But excellent craftsmanship.

I just took a break from Violet to play Mario 3D world, and then it’s back to Violet.vurt wrote: Thu May 04, 2023 1:01 pmDrGonzo wrote: Thu May 04, 2023 12:59 pmDamn it. You're right. I can barely think of anything else right now. One more week.

The new Zelda looks nice, but I’m in no rush after playing the first one which was lots of walking before upgrades.

nice!elxsound wrote: Thu May 04, 2023 11:56 am Yesterday was a fun day… 3xMIA, 4x Stereo Mix, Mixwitch and NTS-2 all arrived.
Those knobs on the Happy Nerding stuff are very cool… but another case of where modulargrid only gets you so far. I had to readjust placement to make sure I could use them when cables are plugged in.
So far this configurations works!

I spent time using it with the Tides clone in Hector, but I realize it makes the most sense when using all 4 outputs, because of the way it varies the outputs. Still pretty nice to finally see what it’s all doing and I’m glad I didn’t buy a dedicated module for it… at this point at least.

its a very nice sounding oscillator (tides).
tbf, i went a bit mad last year, especially just before xmas with the xpo/qpas/xpan out of nowhere purchases
and ive been holding off on cosmos, as a treat for myself, when i finally finish tidying in here

Not yet, but it’s on my list. I’ve only made some nice accidental envelopes patching from 0-Ctrl. I’m also not sure how closely the real thing follows this Hector clone, but again I realize I need to look at all 4 outputs at once.vurt wrote: Thu May 04, 2023 6:52 pmyou tried it at audio rate yet?elxsound wrote: Thu May 04, 2023 6:44 pmI also ordered 4 also for the NTS-2. I think 0-Ctrl and fake Tides will be the way I use it the most.
Cosmos looks nice… but I’m staying away until I know if I’m adding DFAM and Subharmonicon.

Yeah. They are almost at vst prices these daysConstructed Identity wrote: Thu May 04, 2023 1:10 amLet me know how you like it. Seems we could all own 3-4 of these Behringer modules and have them in a rack all in a row if someone would invent a great system - one with a switching mixer...D-Fusion wrote: Wed May 03, 2023 3:10 pm Just ordered a Behringer Cat now that the prices have gone down here in Europe (Hope it will arrive on Friday so i don't have to wait until Monday).
Seems like a Phat sounding synth with Unique Oscillator options ala Prophet + 2 Sub Oscillators so i guess it will be a good team member to my SE-02.
Looking forward to the P800 too![]()
I feel like we'll all be buried in hardware in a few years. Makes me wanna start on my mud hut where I can teach THE FORCE to aspiring Jedi.
I will let you know what i think of it when i have received it and tested it for a while but based on the Videos i have seen on Youtube it has the sound i have been looking for.
I was thinking of getting the Behringer Crave but saw that the Cat was at the same price and it has more to offer in terms of sounds it can make since Crave only has 1 Oscillator + The Cat is also Duophonic so you can play 2 notes at the same time and not only Mono.

I have loads of those leads and at least they stay in place so much better than those hateful micro-USB plugs that pop out if you so much as look at them.foosnark wrote: Thu May 04, 2023 11:58 am PP-1 actually seems to be an original module, unless they're ripping off something really obscure
I wonder why they insist on using USB B jacks though. Maybe they bought millions of them real cheap because nobody else wants them anymore.
Just watched this DivKid vid about 4 new modules. The ‘Asset’ with 6 lots of attenuverters and offsets looks like good value at £160-ish.

It does seem 'unique', though there are certainly aspects/features present in other modules, this one covers a LOT of bases that should make it a flexible/valuable addition to almost any set-up. Even with a minimal eurorack indulgence, the midi out feature alone will (rightfully) attract a bunch of users working ITB and with other outboard gear.foosnark wrote: Thu May 04, 2023 11:58 am PP-1 actually seems to be an original module, unless they're ripping off something really obscure![]()
I suspect it is because they are much more robust, which I (personally) appreciate, and given how vulnerable that particular placement/positioning on the panel could be, that will be a plus, as it's going to get 'bumped'. Yes, he would likely have 'millions of them', as they are used in mixers/interfaces/synths they already produce. I think it a prudent if not wise, choice.foosnark wrote: Thu May 04, 2023 11:58 am I wonder why they insist on using USB B jacks though. I recently sold all of my MPE hardware synthesizers so I can plan for a different one, but part of that process involves going back to synthesizers only. Before, I had the Synthstrom Audible Deluge, which is an all-in-one groovebox that condensed all of my needs and wants, or least that was what I thought when I acquired it. After a few months, I learned that it does everything well, but the synthesizer is not powerful enough for my needs.
The new MPE hardware synthesizer I am planning to acquire disrupts my current live music setup. Normally, everything is battery-operated so I can flexibly perform indoors or outdoors with ease. With this upcoming acquisition, I will need mains power to use it, making it far harder to use it outdoors without also carrying an unwieldy portable power generator or battery power station. I have decided to forego the outdoors route to keep my setup more lightweight and compact.
I no longer have a convenient metronome/tempo, so I researched all of them. I decided on the Peterson StroboPLUS HDC and matching Body Beat Vibe Clip, as this combination provides haptic feedback as an option. Both have not arrived yet.

One of the reasons that I purchased Hector was because of Loopop's attempt at duplicating part of it. I wanted to experiment in the same way. I like what Cosmos does, but, they are very similar to Make Noise in that they like to use vague bullshit to define how their instruments work. I like the non-rhythmic looping, but I don't need to spend a lot of money on just that.elxsound wrote: Thu May 04, 2023 7:32 pm

added a 4x4 midi thing, so i can finally set up midi for the 4 bits that have it
